'TILL DEATH DO US' TOUR 2007 DIARY VIDEO DIARY ZVERA PICS... ZOO FEST PICS... TALLINN PICS... AUG 1 - THATS ALL FOLKS After a few more beers at the Zvera Festival we had to start making our way back to Germany so that Binski can catch his plane back. We had 30 hours to make it. The shit Polish roads set us back quite a bit again. Plus the constant rain, fog and our drunk tech calling piss stops didn't help. But we made it to Dusseldorf with just 1 hour to spare. It was a long day in the bus. We spent the last couple of days just hanging around Max's house. The bus needed a serious cleaning, but we got it all done yesterday. Its amazing how much mess you can make in just 5 short weeks. But it looks as good as new now. Tomorrow morning we're off to the airport and back to Canada. Back to reality again I guess. Not for long tho. There are plans to come back to Europe in November. We're still not sure exactly when ir for how long, but keep checking back this site for updates. The new videos are now up on the video diary and we're putting some more up today as well. Thanx to everyone that made this tour possible. All the promoters and bands that helped us out with shows. All the clubs for the food and all the beer we could drink. Thanx to Pearl for the kit. Thanx to Max aka The Drunk Tech for all the help before and after the tour. And the biggest thanx goes to all our new and old friends and fans. You guys made this the best tour yet!!! The next one will be even better. We'll see you all really soon!!! PEACE JULY 29 - THE GRAND FINALE I guess its true. Time does fly when you're having fun. Before we knew it we were on our way to the last show of the tour. Destination: Saldus, Latvia. And yes we know we're backtracking, but what else is new. Got to the festival when it was in full swing. Tons of people, bands playing on both stages, dj's and BXM biking. Awesome setup!!! We were scheduled to play at midnight so that gave us planty of time to make some friends and have some preshow beer. Latvian beer is not the best, but when its free it tastes great anyway. Before we knew it, it was time to play. We hit the stage to a full crowd in front. Everyone gave it all we had left in us and I think the crowd saw it. We had people moshing on and off the stage, stage diving and a bunch of girls joined us on stage for Love Dove. Couple of them tried to take Salamonn's pants off while he was playing. Luckily for me they did not succeed. Last thing I want to see on stage in Salamonn's sausage swinging everywhere. This was definitely an amazing way to end the tour. The show was chaos. Binski and Salamonn stage dove towards the end of the set just to get the crowd going even more. Ended the show with me and Salamonn doing a double stage dive. Felt like the biggest band in the world! Big big thanx to Kaplis and everyone else at Zvera for an amazing night. Thanx to all the bands. And as usual, the biggest thanx goes to all our new fans that made it a show to remember. We'll be back next year!!! PEACE JULY 28 - A BUSY DAY Another early wake up call after a very late party. This time we're actually starting to feel the hangover. Too many days in a row with not much sleep at all. But we had to set course for Alytus to play ZOO FEST at 5 in the afternoon. About 6 hours later we got to the city but finding the festival wasn't so easy. Finally we saw some people with backpacks and tents in hand. Jusr what we need!!! So we loaded them in the van and they guided us to the place. Nice stage, big sound and great weather! Set for a good show. We had to be the first band to play so that we can make it in time for our Vilnius show that same night at 9. Besides, we made history here by being the first band to play ZOO Fest ever!!! Surprizingly lots of people came early to see us play. We had a good show and quite a bit of beer afterwords. Would've been nice to stay longer but we still had an hour and a halfd drive to the next gig. Thanx to Darius for the show, the beer and the hotel rooms! Hope we can do it again next year. And huge thanx to all our new Lithuanian fans that rocked out so early in the afternoon with us. OFF TO THE NEXT SHOW @ THE BIX Busy busy busy. It was after 7 already when we finally hit the road. Took some people with us that wanted to come see us play again. Full house in the bus!!! That was fun. Got to Vilnuis just in time for the show. The problem was we could not get into the city. Thats a problem with many European cities. So after circling the town for a bit we decided to walk inside and get someone that knows to guide us in. After a fast load in and a very quick soundcheck we got a chance to eat. First meal of the day at almost 9pm. The food was great. Hard to judge tho, cause by then anything would've tasted good I think. The place wasn't too big, but the vibes were cool and people got us and rocked out while we played. After the show, more beer and more beer and more beer. We had to head back to Alytus still so that we can crash at the hotel room. So back we went this time with even more people in the bus. Kept the party going. Got back to ZOO Fest at about 2 am to find quite a few people still up drinking and having a good time. So we had to join them for the festivities. It was about 6am when we finally hit the beds. Tired, dirty and drunk. Last show tomorrow at Zvera!!! Thanx to everyone that partied with us here in Lithuania. We had a great time with you all! PEACE JULY 27 - RIGA @ DEPO Second show in the Baltic countries was great! I know I say that every update, but it really has been an awesome tour and every gig turned out to be good so far. Good bands, good food, great beer and wicked vibes! Not too much to say about this one. Thanx to Guntis for helping us out with the show! See you guys at Zvera in a couple of days! PEACE JULY 26 - TALLINN The soundcheck was at 10:30 in the morning because of the noise rules in the city during the day. Getting up was tough since we haven't really slept for 2 days. Sleeping in the bus while its driving on shit roads is like sleeping with a jackhammer under your bed. Not really all that comfortable. But smelling the hot breakfast cooking kinda helped motivate us a bit. Met up with the other bands and after the soundcheck we hit the town. Had a few beers in a downtown pub, then a few beers at the hotel, then a few beers on the street...point made. By the time we got got to the venue at 8 we were feeling good. The show was amazing. It was so great to see all my friends from back in the day come out. Haven't seen anyone here for over 8 years now, but apperently the legend lives on. I was not forgotten. The place filled up fast. Von Krahl is the best venue in town and all the promotion we got through local papers and magazines helped the draw. The crowd was wicked. We got amazing responce from the people. It was one of the best shows of the tour. The afterparty lasted till 5am. Good times all around. Great show, great people, great party!!! Huge thanx to Hando from EgoStrip for setting up the gig. Thanx to EgoStrip and Aidas for sharing the stage with us. Big thanx to Dmitri and Stass for helping us out on the media side of things and for the hookas in the morning. Thanx to the sound man for doing a wicked job. And of course most importantly thanx to everyone there for giving ZEROSCAPE such a warm welcome. We'll be seeing you all very soon!!! PEACE JULY 24 - THE LONG ROAD HOME At about 5 in the afternoon we finally got on our way to Estonia. The plan was to soldier it out and drive non-stop till we get there. And thats just what we did. Getting to Poland was no problem, but the roads in Poland were shit. Really really shit. At some times we were barely going 50km/h. But to be honest I was so excited to get to Tallinn that it didn't matter much. Since Max didn't have his passport we had to take a long detour as well, since going through Russia was impossible. It was past 7 in the am when we finally reached Lithuania. Still over 500km to go but at least the roads are back to normal. No fancy highways but decent roads anyway. It wasn't till almost 7 at night when we reached our destination. Total drive took 26 hrs with barely any stops. And when we parked the bus it was a total of 1970km. Now what other band does this? Good times. Arrived at my dad's cottage for a huge meal (or meals I guess), some beers and a hot sauna. That was probably the best meal we had on the road. Slept like babies that night. Full and clean for a change. Thanx for taking good care of us!!! Off to play the homecoming show in the morning! PEACE JULY 23 - HAMBURG @ THE BALLROOM It was a long drive again. Over 600km. Good thing we have a good bus and there are no speed limits in Germany. Otherwise we would've been really late. Really cool venue just pteps away from Hamburg's red light district, the Reeperbahn! Good times here last year. What can I say about the bands last night? Those that stuck around and supported us, thanx a lot! As for everyone else, you got a lot to learn. Playing a show and leaving right after is not what REAL bands do. All you pussiy bands that need beauty rest before a day at the office have no place in the rock and roll world. At least the CDs you gave us came in handy last night. There should be a video up on YouTube within a few days. Have a look, its pretty funny. Anyhooo... Now that I got that off my chest. Huge thanx for everyone that rocked out. You guys were loud and had an energy of a much bigger crowd. Thats exactly what we like to see when we play. Thanx to everyone at the Ballroom for looking after us and giving us a good deal on those shirts!!! Clean clothes is great! Thanx to Lenny for setting up the gig and thanx to Max and Coleen for hitch hiling all the way from Frieberg. And thanxto the Mad Max for coming down from Dortmund. He'll be on the road with us now till the end of the tour. Hit the Reeperbahn after the show. It was ghost town on a Sunday but with 7 of us we still turned it into a party. No sleep again. Time for us to start making our way to Estonia. Made is to Berlin so far. Long ways to go yet. Max didn't bring his passport with him either which should make the trip even more fun. Over 1800km to go and 2 days to get there!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! Sorry there are no pics this time but this computer is way too slow. PEACE JULY 22 - LA LOUVIERE TAKES A BEATING We were looking forward to this show for a while. Last time we made a lot of friends here and it was nice to come back. Seeing people sporting the ZEROSCAPE shirts. Thats always good to see. Had an amazing meal upstairs. Rice, chicken, meatballs, shrimp, lobster. So much for roughing it on the road I guess. Living it up this time. The beer was unlimited which in nice cause Belgian beers are way too small. We played at 8 and the place was packed. It was amazing to see everyone singing along. Big big thanx to everyone that rocked out. We felt amazing!!! It was good to party with all of you afer the show as well. Thanx to Sandro for the hospitality. We'll definitely be stopping by next tour. Thanx to all the organizers and the sound crew for doing an amazing job. This will go down as one of the best shows of the tour! Oh, thanx for the hotel rooms as well. The sleep was much needed. PEACE JULY 21 - THE DRIVE So Salamonn and I took the first shift of the soldier drive. Crossed the border with surprizingly no trouble at all. The customs guy was hassling everyone, but when he saw the Canadian passports he just flagged us through. After about 500km it was time for a shift change. Binski took the wheel and Jizzle took the navigator seat. The drive went pretty smooth. We only took a couple of short stops. At about 7pm we were still on the road. Almost ran out af diesel trying to save a couple bucks. Long story. Valuable lesson learned tho. Turned up to the show just before 8 hungry and tired. Luckily they had some food there for us and some beers. That always helps you get in the rock and roll spirit. Total trip turned out to be 1367km in just about 16 hours!!! THE SHOW The venue was pretty small and as usual very hot. Had a couple of good bands play before us. Everyone stuck around for the ZEROSCAPE set. Wicked moshpit going the whole time! Thanx to all those that rocked out with us. We'll see you all next year. Big thanx to Poos for setting up the gig and all the food and beer. THE AFTERPARTY What else is new. Barely slept and still ready to go! We ended up at a place called Bicklicks in the middle of nowhere. What a wicked party it was tho. The cops apparently don't even come by there and the place is open till 6am. Good music, good party, good people! Finally we had to crash at about 7am. Didn't sleep much because by 10 the sun was beating down and the black bus turned into an easybake oven. Off to Belgium for another festival show in La Louviere! PEACE JULY 20 - Balassagyarmat, Hungary Well, the day went great. After breakfast we headed over to another house for a traditional Hungarian meal. We had gulash soup! That was awesome. Home made food is always the best. Headed for the lake after. Not much of a lake to be honest. We saw some homeless drunk guy get in the water with his clothes on so we decided to pass on the swimming even tho it was over 40 degrees outside. Got to the venue on time for a change. To a warm welcome as usual. Greeted us with some beers and huge pizzas for everyone. We pretty much spent most of our day eating or waiting to eat. Never get hungry in Hungary!!! That was a good one!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! The show was great as well. Hot hot hot. Sweating hard on stage. The crowd was great and we had a blast as usual. Watched Subscribe after our show do a wicked RATM cover set. The beers just kept on coming and coming. Partied with the people till after 3am. Unfortunately we couldn't stay longer because we had another Zeroscape drive to do. This time to Luxembourg. Huge thanx again to Gbor and everyone else at the venue for taking wicked care of us. can't wait to come to Hungary again. PEACE JULY 19 - HUNGARY ATTACK CONTINUES Second show in Hungary turned out to be awesome! Played in asmall town called Salgotarjan right near Slovakian border. The turnout was great and the place was full. The energy was wicked as well. Moshing and all going on right through the set. Thanx to all the bands that played. Thanx to the bartender for serving up the cold beers all night. Thanx to all the people that stayed after the show to party with us. We had a great time. And huge thanx to Gabor for taking wicked care of us with the beers, the show, a place to sleep and the awesome soup. Apparently there's a lake nearby, so we're off for a swim. THE PICS!!! These are good!!! Some pics from Rock For People in Czech These are good!!! PEACE JULY 18 - HUNGARY ATTACK BEGINS First out of 3 Hungarian shows was last night. The cool thing is that the venue was on an old war ship. A russian war ship I think. Pretty cool place! Found the ship with no trouble at all. Surprizing since we had no directions and no address and noone speaks a word of hungarian. But I guess it can only be so hard to find a ship. At least we knew it was on the water. Got amazing treatment as always. Had a meal on the main floor of the A38. Fancy restaurant! I mean we had strawberry soup for an appetizer. That kind of fancy. Great meal tho! After the show on the upper deck we got to partying. Beer was free as usual, besides people there just kept on giving us drinks. Now a warning to all of you that never been to Hungary before. Stay away from Palinka! That stuff is potent and goes right to your head. I was told its made of peaches, but tasted more like diesel fuel to me. But if you're into getting stupid drunk, this is what you need. At about 2 am we headed for the hotel room navigating only with a ripped out page of a map. The tricky thing was that the route was drawn on with a marker only visible in black light. Seemed all clear in the club, but in the bus it was useless. Luckily we found someone that led us to the hotel. Second Hungarian show tonight in some town we still can't pronounce. PEACE JULY 17 - TROOPS IN RETREAT Before the last stretch of the tour we got a couple days off. Headed back to Italy on Sunday morning. No rush this time. Driving through the Alps again. Its exciting the first time, but after 3 times in 3 days it gets boring just like everything else. Picked up some hitchikers on the way. That was a good deed! Gotta return the favours we're getting around here. Spotted a football game in the middle of the mopuntains. We just had to join in. Turned out they were all local fire people just taking a break and playing some ball. That was a good time. And a hell of an excersize. Sure felt it next morning. And just for the record mine and Binski's team smoked the team Jizzle and Salamonn were in. Giutar section in the lead as usual! Headed to Torino for the night. Had some pizza. It was good, but to be honest after the pizza we had at the Dynamo in Czech Republic our standards are pretty high. As Salamonn said, that pizza changed his life. Thats huge... On day 2 we realized that we only had 2 days off and not 3 as we originally thought. I guess counting 2 days is not as easy as it seems. The course was already set for Venice so that where we went. The city of dreams they call it. Well, we call it a giant Italian cash register. We parked pretty far away (30 min walk) and still paid 21 Euros. Ouch!!! The town was nice. Got lost. What else is new huh? This place is pretty big considering there its built on water and the only way to get around is by walking or by boat. Or maybe it just seems big after you make three laps and still end up in the same place. Maze of a town that is. So after 4 hours we finally made it back to the bus. Tired and hungry. Good thing the chicken at the grocery store was half price. Probably cause it sat on the shelf all day. But who cares? That was a great meal. Made it to Budapest today. Fourty degrees in the shade. No joke. My balls are stuck to my leg, my legs are stuck to my shorts... you get the picture. Hope we get to shower tonight cause I'm going on day 5!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Hungary here we come!!! Here are some pics from past few days. By the way, Salamonn is putting up a whole lot of videos up right now. They should all be up by tomorrow. Keep checking out that VIDEO DIARY PEACE JULY 15 - THE RETURN TO LYON Our only show in France this tour. We just had to come back to Lyon cause we had such a blast here last year. Surprizingly we found the place with no problems. Last year we got lost for about an hour and a half trying to get there. The hospitality was once again at its finest. All kind of beer and food for the bands. The show was good as well. Not the biggest crowd of the tour, but definitely a good one. After the show the fun began. Beer after beer after beer... Ended up crashing in some early hopur of the morning some in the bus and some still inside the venue. Thanx again to Jean Luke for the amazing time. And big thanx to everyone else that made our night great. Oh and thanx to celine for making the trip from Paris just to see us!!! Pics from Rock La Mures in Romania. Thank You Ime!!! PEACE JULY 13 - MILAN Well, surprisingly we found the venue with very little trouble. There's a first. The venue we were supposed to play ended up cancelling the show just a few days ago. But luckily Faber from Blasted Management busted his balls and secured us a gig at K-LIVE instead. The good thing is that we got to play outside. Got eaten alive by the mosquitos tho. They seem to like the Canadian blood. Or maybe its just the alcohol level in our blood that attracts them. After the show we went to an afterparty. Too bad we didn't get there till 3am. But we still had a couple more beers before we called it a night. Big thanx to Faber for a great night. We'll be back soon. Off to the beach now suckas!!! Pics from the last few days PEACE JULY 12 - ANOTHER LONG DRIVE!!! Everyone that looks at our tour schedule always has that puzzled look on their face. The reason is we never pass up on gigs and therefore end up making some long trips just for one show. But thats the way we do shit. So yesterday we set our from Frieberg Germany and set course for Milan. Drove over 700km yesterday and ended up crashing in the Alps in Switzwerland. That was pretty cool waking up to some fresh ait and mountains all over. Drove through Liechtenstein yesterday as well. By accident, but cool nonetheless. That country is tiny. Never even heard of it before to be honest. Today we drove the rest of the way making some stops on the way. In Milan now finally. The city is huge. Let's hope our Google maps don't let us down. Its been over a 1000km drive and we're yet to find the club. PEACE JULY 11 - BACK AT THE EAC!!! We had a great time at this place last year and we knew we won't be disappointed this time. We played the last party of the university year at the campus. Once again, we get treated like rockstars here in Europe. The food was amazing and there was more beer than we could handle. That doesn't happen often either. A huge beer fridge on wheels just for the band. That wicked!!! The crowd was amazing. From the first song they were moshing, jumping, screaming and whatever else you do at a rock show. Nice to see that. Thanx to all of you for the amazing support. It was great to see all the familiar faces from last year as well. And BIG BIG thanx to Fischy for the show, the hospitality, the hotel and the vodka. We had a great time again. I'm glad this time we didn't finish the night off with a car crash. See you next year boysa and girls!!! And all those that had exams the day after, you are fucking troopers! PEACE JULY 10 - VIENNA @ THE ARENA Well, fotr a change we didn't have to do too much driving. Spent the day in Vienna. Salamonn went swimming in the river. Looked more like the sewer channel to me tho. Gotta do something to kill the days. The show was good as well. The place was tiny but the people there were wicked! We got awesome treatment again. Food, beer and a nice place to crash. Big thanx to Kris from Hindoslem for lining up the gig. Thanx to Alex for the sound and the hospitality. Hopefully we'll see you guys next time. PEACE JULY 9 - VIENNA @ CHELSEA Good time last night again. It was about a 5 hour drive from Ronamia and went a lot smoother than the day before. The show went well. There wasn't too many people there but the ones that came sure had a great time. Sold quite a few CDs considering the amount of people that came. One out of every 3 got one! Thanx for the support everyone! Thanx to Hindoslem for setting up the show. Thanx to the Chelsea crew for all the beer! Party as usual until it was time to shut the place down. Walked our drunk asses to a Kebab shop and had 2 kebabs each!!! Thats right people, we're the high rollers now. Can afford to eat properly. Crashed in the bus under a bridge in the centrer of Vienna. Fuck it was hot in that bus last night. Woke up all soaked! Thats rock and roll I guess. The smell is anyway after not showering for quite a few days and playing some hot hot hot shows. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! PEACE JULY 8 - ROCK LA MURES The festival was wicked! Playing outside always rocks. The sun was shining and we at last found the hot weather. The stage was nice and high and the sound was good. It was great to see people rocking out in front of the stage. Thanx to everyone for the support! Thanx to the organizers for all the food and beer. And the Red Bull that kept us up all day and all night again. The party after was awesome as well. Got to see some cool bands and got to rock out for The Locos at the end. Wicked time! Here are the pics PEACE JULY 8 - DRIVE TO ROMANIA Once again we had to make a soldier move and leave the venue at the end of the night. Destination, Romania!!! The drive is about 900km and there are lots of borders to cross. Jizzle and I get on the move and get through Czech Republic, Slovakia and into Hungary. No problems, smooth sailing. Then it was time to make a switch. So Binski took the wheel with Salamonn in the co-pilot position. Jizzle and I crashed. A couple of hours later all I heard was "oh shit, we missed the exit". No big deal, you can always turn around right? Not this time. Now we're in the lineup at the Serbian border and there's no way out. Turns out the Serbians don't fuck around. It took us well over an hour. First the Hungarian side took a while snooping around and took a CD as a present. Then on the Serbian side, we had to make a list of all the gear, show them everything we had, a search of the van...you get the picture. And they took a CD, as a present. Now we're on our way again!!! Driving through Serbian countryside trying to look for a border to Romania. Finally we find on and its closed. Good times!!! Now we got one and half hours till showtime. So we head further south looking for the next crossing. The roads just get smaller and shittier. No highways in this neck of the woods. Finally we find one. They make us take all the shit out again and have a look around. Everything is good, but the take a CD as a present anyway. Then the Ronamian border control does the same. Except they take 2 CD. Not that we offered a single one. These people aren't too shy I guess. Anyhow, we got to the show late and luckily they bumped up our set so we didn't miss anything. All in all, this one wrong turn cost us 6 CDs, about three and a half hours, 6 CDs and 10 Euros we "had to pay" for some stamp. Although every other stamp we recieved was free. Oh well, at least the passport looks good. Collected more stamps in the last 2 days than in our whole lives travelling. The drive update. Another one. PEACE JULY 7 - DYNAMO Our second Czech Republic show went awesome as well. The club was really cool. Doesn't look like much when you walk into the place, but the further you go the better it gets. We had an amazing time as usual and the people seemed to like our shit as well. After the show it was of course a party! Beer, beer and more beer. Thanx to Vera for helping us out with the show and for all the pizza and booze. Thanx to everyone at the Dynamo for the hospitality and thanx to Rattle Bucket for playing. We'll see you guys all soon. PEACE JULY 6 - ZEROSCAPE ROCKS THE PEOPLE Well this was the big day we were waiting for. The Rock For People Festival in Czech Republic. Salamonn and I busted the soldier drive overnight. Took some dodgy route. As soon as we got to the place we went on the hussle as we always do. Standing by the gates handing out flyers. I think we were the only band there to do that. And that seemed to have worked. By the time we hit the stage there was a field full of people in front of us. What a fucking rush playing for a big crowd that cheers and screams after every song. We had them from the first song and kept them for the whole show. And the crowd just got bigger and louder after every song! After the show it was back to the hussle. Salamonn, the sales man, was walking down the sea of people selling CDs. Sounds crazy, but it worked. Then we hung out and checked out some cool bands that were playing. These festivals are the way to go. Nothing but a good time. Thanx to all of you for giving us a warm welcome in Czech Republic! Thanx to everyone at Rock for People for the food, beer and the hotel room. Here are the pics PEACE JULY 5 - BACK AT THE UNIKUM This is one of those shows that we just couldn't wait to get to. Its like homecoming here evry time. The people are amazing and we get royal treatment year after year. The place was packed as usual. And I mean packed!!! Saw a lot of familiar faces from last year as well. Good to know we're remembered. Huge thanx to Mirko and the rest of the Unikum crew for the great hospitality!!! Thanx to Kris for hooking up the show. Too bad we could't stay and party with you all like last year. The schedule is just too busy. See you next time! Off to Czech Republik!!! PEACE JULY 3 - THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM Another couple of days off before we start our next streak of 7 shows that will take us to 4 countries in just 7 days. Rock For People festival in Czech Republic is only 2 days away and we're stoked about playng there. If you haven't seen the lineup yet you should definitely check it out!!! And tomorrow we're playing at the Unikum in Halle, which for those that read last year's diary would know was the biggest party we had all tour. Awesome!!! We spent the last couple of days hanging out with Max in Dortmund. I'm surprized he hasn't tried to kill us yet. Thanx for letting us stay here!!! Sure beats roaming the random streets of Germany trying to kill the time. Here are some wicked vidoes you should all check out. There are lots more on YouTube. Watch them drunk, its more fun that way. Here's the average day off at Max's. The chilli eating competition!!! This was fun. This is what happens when you start on the beer just a bit too early. By midnight you're invincible. The video cut off before we got to finish. But in the end, Max and I called it a tie at 10 chillis each. Then we ate everything we could find in the kitchen trying hopelessly to stop the burning. Still paying for it today. Had to do this update standing up. Get the idea??? PEACE JULY 2 - DAY OFF BUT STILL ON THE HUSSLE Yesterday was our first day off on the tour. So with help from Gerjan we were albe to get into the RosRock festival going on nearby. Not to play but just to hang out and see some bands. The vibe was amazing at this place. Everyone's chilled and just there to have a good time. Hopefully we get to play here next year. In order to keep the mission going we made sure that everyone walked out of that place with at least a flyer in their hand. Then the real hussle started. We had a sweet parking spot right by the exit. So Salamonn and Binski got the doors of the bus wide open and ZEROSCAPE blaring through the speakers. Between Salamonn's "aggressive" sales tactics and the music playing in the background I think we might've sold more CDs than some bands that played. Thanx to everyone that joined us last night for some beers and joints. Thanx to the guy in the green shirt (I forgot the name) for the wicked dutch breakfast!!! Thats it for Holland for now. Time to move East!!! We got a phone number now as well. Here it is: +49 (0) 170 624 7185. Call it if you need to find us. Here are the pics...finally. And there are some videos for you kids to check out. Its 2007, ZEROSCAPE is all high tech. Go to YouTube.com and search for Zeroscape. Lots of fans talking in different languages and some other stuff as well. PEACE JULY 1 - BORN 2 B WILD About time we got to play outside. The weather was not too cooperating but that didn't seem to scare too many people away. Lots of cool bands playing on the stage all day. At the same time there are break dance competitions, skateboarding, wakeboarding and even free bungee jumping. FREE!!! We could not pass on that opportunity. For some reason 70 meters does not look nearly as bad from the ground as it does once you actually get up there. The good thing is that once you get up that high there's only one way down. What a rush!!! And no, I did not piss my pants either. They were just wet from the rain. The show went great. Played right as the sun was setting. Wicked crowd that supported us the whole time. It was just a great day all together. Thanx to Matt for hooking us up with the show and all the beer and food. Also thanx to all the bands especially Samaritan, White Boys For Gay Jesus and Transmitter (still got your album playing in the van). As if that wasn't enough for the day we jumped in the van and drove to Amsterdam! We had to, it was only half hour away. Unfortunately we missed the last call at the coffee shops, but it was still cool to hang out in the red light district. Good times!!! PEACE JUNE 30 - THIS IS HOW WE DO SHIT!!! Well, the scheduled show in Antwerp got cancelled yesterday cause some local bands dropped out. Instead of taking the night off, we went on a prawl for a place to play. So we showed up at Musicon in Den Haag and with some luck on our side, one of the bands cancelled on them last minute. Thanx to Allapalooza and The Black Bandits for letting us join the lineup last minute. The show was good. Not too many people, but those that stayed made us feel welcome. Huge thanx to everyone at the Musicon for the awesome treatment. That sure beats a night off!!! Playing the Born2B Wild festival today. Extreme sports and music. Wicked combination... Better get going!!! Stay in touch. Some pics next time. PEACE JUNE 29 - KOORNBEURS, Delft Conquering new land. Our first show in Holland! Picked up Jizzle's drums on the way as well. Thanx to Thomas Franke from Pearl for hooking us up with a nice set for the tour. The night went wicked. Some traditional European hospitality. Get food and all the beer you can drink. Thats the way to treat the bands. The show was awesome! The crowd rocked out from the very first song right to the end. Even plyed an encore song for them! Big thanx to Alex for looking after us at the venue. Thanx Gerjan from Bajvan Booking for hooking us up with the show. Thanx to Right Back Edje for playing. Good shit boys. And huge thanx to Wim for taking us to the afterparty, letting us crash at his pad and the awesome breakfast! PEACE JUNE 28 - THE START The trip to Germany could not have gone any smoother. No problems at all, waltzed our way in with no problems. Why do the British customs make it so complicated anyway? Even all our luggage made it here unlike last year. All is good! Then we got to meet our new ride for the tour. We ended up renting a bus from tourbusse.de and Aris met us right at the airport. What a beast! The thing is huge and when we got it, the bus only had 88km on it. No shit!!! Brand new. So needless to say we'll be riding in style this time. Here's the true ZROSCAPE way of doing shit. We landed in Germany at 3pm and our first show was at 8:30. No time to waste! Headed right to our German home base at Max's house. Grab a quick snack, loaded up some gear and off we went to play a last minute show in Hamm thanx to Max for that. The night went smooth. We got to play a really short set, which was alright cause we spent the last 18 hours hussling and noone has really slept for well over a day! Good times! Netherlands today! New territory!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! PEACE JUNE 26 - PARTY IN THE BUSH AND NOW ITS TIME TO GO... Apparently one going away party was just not good enough, so this part Saturday night we had another one. After all, getting prepared for 5 weeks of playing music and partying is not as easy as it sounds. The bush party was amazing. In the middle of the sticks somewhere up by Caledon. Nothing but trees, good music and great vibes. We had a wicked time up there. It was great to share the stage with our brothers from Nagasaki, Flatt Eddy and Bone Trigger once again. Thanx to everyone that came out and shared the party with us. I was surprized to see some of you still moving in the morning. I know I had a 2 day hangover. Huge thanx to Brendon for throwing this party. Happy Birthday man and we can't wait to do this again next year!!! Well, better go get ready for the plane ride!!! FREE BOOZE!!! Nice life being in a touring band. Check back soon. The chaos is about to begin. PEACE |
