BRAILLE TOUR JOURNAL MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE THANK YOU LIST... EUROPEAN TOUR 2005 AUGUST 25 HOME AT LAST Well. All good things must come to an end. The 'BRAILLE' European Tour 2005 is now over. The trip home was fairly painless. Thats shocking considering we don't do things the easy way most of the time. In the end we had to pay out £50 just to get rid of the van. What a piece of junk that was, but it made it through and got us to every single show. Was a bit sad watching it go. Afterall it been our home for the last 4 and a half months. Me and Jizzle nearly missed the flight. Long story. Had to run across the whole airport with the back packs on. That could've got pretty ugly considering the security alert lately. But it all went fine. We all made the flight. The 8 hour flight didn't seem too bad. Must say the free booze on the plane really helps. Even managed to squeeze in half a cigarette in the bathroom. That was a relief. It was good to see Canada again. And that big bright yellow thing in the sky. Oh yeah, its called the sun. Sure missed that. Its been great times, but it sure is nice to be back home to see the family and friends. Nevermind the bed, good food and showers. All the luxuries. Only staying here for a little bit so we better enjoy it. We played 96 shows in the last 6 months. Its been an absolutely amazing experience. Sure we hit a few bumps along the way, but at no point did we even consider giving up or going home. We've learned a lot from the good and the bad that came our way. And no matter how hard times got we always put our music first and managed to make it to every show. We came here to spread our music and we definitely accomplished that. We made tons of fans and sold over 700 copies of 'BRAILLE' in Europe. And of course, as planned, we came home with a trophy. We are now moving on to playing bigger shows with bigger bands at bigger venues. Just working out a few last details of our US Tour that will start in September. This is just another chapter closed in the ZEROSCAPE story. There are lots more to come. There are way to many people to thank so I'll put up a new page for it very soon. Make sure you drop by and check it out. The Tour Diary will still be updated frequently so don't stop checking it. EVERYONE, STAY IN TOUCH!!! Our phone is no longer in use, but I'll post up my mobile number as soon as I get it reconnected. We'll be back to Europe soon!!! PEACE AUGUST 22 CWMBRAN @ THE OASIS The final show of the tour. Came up faster than we expected. Had to finish it off on a good note and we did. It was great to see all the friends we made here back in March come out and support us again. Thank you all for making this show great. Huge thanx to Sean and Helen for setting this gig up and giving us a place to crash. Even though Helen made us all wash our fet before we go to sleep. I guess she leaned the lesson the first time around. We'll be staying in touch. Thanx to Metal John for yet another wicked freak show. I want some pics!!! If anyone got any, please send them to us. Too bad we didn't have any CDs for sale. If anyone's interested you can buy them online through the link on the front page. Thank you guys again for making the last show a memorable one. Can't wait to come back!!! PEACE AUGUST 21 BOURNEMOUTH @ MR. SMITHS Back to Mr. Smiths. I think this was our 5th show here including the two acoustic sets. Wicked night!!! The other 2 bands we absolutely amazing. Huge thanx to Until Summer and Abuse for playing. Hope we can all stay in touch. The crowd was loud and the moshpit was in full swing for the second half of the set. Thanx to all of you for that. Made us feel welcome once again. Thanx to Harry for doing a great job with the sound. Thanx to Rich from Dead Man Skanking for setting up the gig. And of course thanx to J for keeping this venue rocking every day. Need more people like you around. The 'BRAILLE' CDs are now completely sold out. Unfortunately we don't even have any to sell in Cwmbran tonight. I guess thats a good thing in a way. Sold 200 CDs in just over 2 weeks. Thank you all for the support. Last show of the tour tonight! Looking forward to the return to the Oasis. I know its gonna be a party... No sence stopping now. PEACE AUGUST 20 NUNEATON @ THE NAGS This week has been absolutely amazing. The Nuneaton show was a blast. The crowd was a bit quiet at first, but it didn't take us long to get them into the music. By the time the second song was over everyone was paying attention and slowly making their way closer and closer to the stage. Awesome sound as well on and off the stage. Its so great to have to have a good sound engineer behind the board. Thanx for that man. Huge thanx to Matt for helping us out with the gig and for bringing us to the afterparty. Up till six in the morning again. Good times. Thanx to our Rock'n'Roll brothers from Newbreed for coming out yet again. You guys are amazing. We'll be staying in touch and we'll see you all soon. And... Here's a story. Max from No Respite and his friend left their house in Dortmund Germany at 11 am to come and see us play all the way in Nuneaton. Half way down they got pulled over in France and nearly got arrested for having a bit of grass on them. Missed the ferry by 5 minutes because the cops help them too long and had to wait 3 hours for the next one. Long story short, they made it to the venue... an hour after the show was over with a trunkfull of Brinkhoff's. Thats hardcore. We still partied it up right at the afterparty though. Were we ever a mess last night. Our German brothers followed us all the way to Bournemouth today to watch tonight's gig. YAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! The party is not over yet... PEACE AUGUST 18 RHYL@ BAR BLU The return to Rhyl. It was everything we expected from it. The place was absolutely packed. The article on the front page of the local paper definitely helped draw in the crowd, plus we made quite an impression here back in March. Good times!!! Thanx to everyone that came out to support us once again and making us feel so welcome. We'll definitely be back soon. You guys are awesome. Thanx to the bands that played as well. Big thanx to the boys from Newbreed for coming down. It was an awesome party as usual. Thanx to Stephen for letting us crash at the 'flat'. Sorry we kept you up all night (literaly) and finished all your booze. Much appreciated!!! PEACE AUGUST 17 SWINDON @ AREA 51 The final week of the tour. Can't believe its been nearly six months since we started. Yet still we're conquering new grounds. First time in Swindon last night. Had a bit of a tough time finding the place. The show went awesome though. The crowd was great. Thanx to all of you for standing up and moshing through the set. We get so much energy watching you guys. Looking forward to coming back to town next time around. Big thanx to Amanda for setting us up with this show, for helping us get free beer and for letting us crash at the house. Thanx to all the bands that played, hope we can stay in touch. And thanx to the soundman (sorry, can't remember the name) for doing a great job as well. So I guess we started the final week off right. Looks like all the remaining 4 shows will be amazing. The show in Rhyl today will be for sure. Had a wicked time here back in March. We've been looking forward to returning to this town for a while. Gonna tear it up!!! PEACE AUGUST 15 WAKEFIELD @ THE SNOOTY FOX Back at the Snooty Fox. The venue seems to be getting better and better everytime we play here. The sound was amazing on and off the stage. Thanx to Malc for the show and for the sounds as well. Definitely one of the best venues we played in the UK. Good times playing with Newbreed again. You guys sounded great. Thanx to everyone that came out to support us as well. We'll see you guys again sometime next year. And if you still want that van get in touch ASAP. PEACE AUGUST 14 WIGAN @ CLUB NIRVANA With absolutely no sleep we rolled into Wigan. Found the venue pretty easy considering the city is a maze to drive in. The venue was huge. Big thanx to Scott for setting up this show. All you half assed promoters out there can learn a few things from this guy. We saw him on the streets handing out flyers all day. The show was very organized, the bands went on on time. Thanx for the water too. The crowd was OK, but since the venue holds 1500 people it looked kinda empty. Thanx to the owners for hooking us up wityh some cash at the end of the night as well. Much appreciated. PEACE AUGUST 13 WELLINGTON @ THE HAYGATE Finally had a good night this week. Huge thanx to the boys from Newbreed for helping us out with the show. We had an amazing time playing with you guys and partying after the show. The crowd was loud and really supportive. Thanx to Darryl for the 6 hour acoustic jam that lasted till 8 in the morning. No rest for the wicked! You guys are all rock and roll. Gonna go for round two in Wakefield this Sunday. PEACE AUGUST 12 WARRINGTON @ WA1 ****CANCELLED**** Here's the story with this show. Early last week we got a call saying that the show's been cancelled because there was a change in promoters at the venue. Not really our fault or problem in the first place. We decided not to give up on it that easy. We made a few phonecalls and managed to get the night back, but we had to find the support bands and take responsibility to pay the soundman. No problem, been there done that. We contacted our friends from Collusion and they agreed to play with us on the night and also found another support to play. Everything's good!!! We sent out lots of flyers to the venue a couple of weeks ago and spent a few hours yesterday just flyering the streets promoting the gig. At 4 in the afternoon we got a call from the promoter saying that the gig's cancelled because there isn't enough bar staff to work the night. What a pile of horse sh*t!!! You can't just cancel a gig 4 hours before it starts. We called the owner of the venue, but obviously he was too busy to talk to us. So there was absolutely nothing we could do. Our appologies to everyone that showed up last night. Hopefully we'll come to Warrington next time around. Won't be to the WA1 though, thats for sure. Maybe we'll see some of you at the Wigan show on Saturday. Huge thanx to Mike from Collusion for helping us out with the show. Stay in touch! PEACE AUGUST 11 STOKE @ THE TALBOT The return to Stoke. Awesome gig again. The venue was packed... Well, not exactly packed... At least 7 people other than the other bands and the bartender. OK. So the turnout was crap. No big deal. Good times anyway. we played hard and got to see some good bands as well. Big thanx to Bill once again for taking care of us. Thanx for the beer, all the chocolate and the words of wisdon at the end of the night. Lesson we learned this week... BOOK YOUR OWN SHOWS!!! All three shows we played this week so far were booked by the same person, apparently a 'promoter'. Between the 3 night we played for probably less than 30 people. Putting on a show goes a lot further than just booking the venue. You gotta actually put at least a little effort into promoting the gig. With that said, thanx for nothing man. We could've booked the same shows on our own and had people there. And if you gonna call yourself a 'promoter', why not try promoting for a change. Oh well, you live you learn. The next stretch of shows is gonna be amazing. The 100 CDs we made just last week have nearly ran out and there is another 100 on the way from Liverpool today. Warrington should be a wicked night. I'll let ya know tomorrow... PEACE AUGUST 10 SAXMUNDHAM @ THE WHITE HART Back to Saxmundham. Had a much easier time finding the place this time. As usual, we had a wicked time. Too bad there were only 11 people there. Oh well. The other bands were great. Thanx to everyone at the White Hart for taking such great care of us. Thanx for the beer, wine, food and a room to crash for the night. Definitely feel rested now. Gonna be really busy right though till the end of the tour. We're in the middle of playing 12 shows in a row. Its go time now. Feeling good!!! Sorry there haven't been any pics up lately. We've lost yet another battery charger for the camera and can't afford any batteries. Believe it or not, this is the third battery charger we've lost. Must be in the same place as the 3 can openers, 3 footballs, 2 knives, a camera and countless articles of clothing that have also disappeared during this tour. Bunch of meatheads. PEACE AUGUST 9 PLYMOUTH @ THE PHOENIX That was a long drive. All the way to the South West. Drove half the way on Sunday night to split the drive. Since I can't drive anymore, Binski has to do all of it. The show went well. Not many people out, but it is a Monday night. Can't expect much. We had a good time anyway. The venue was cool. Thanx to 2 Foot Giant for playing. You guys were great, hopefully we can stay in touch and hook up next time around. Thanx to Dave for helping us book this show. Another huge drive to make again, this time to Saxmundham. All the way to the East. You think we would've learned something the firts time around. PEACE AUGUST 8 BIRKENHEAD @ THE HEX Another awesome day in Birkenhead. Gotta be one of the best place to play in UK. Huge thanx to all our fans out there for making it such a great time. I never seen so many people hanging out in that van in one day. It looks like a schoolbus now with all the writing on it. Thank you guys for all your support, it is much appreciated. Big thanx to Mark a.k.a. The Camera Guy for taking all the footage. Can't wait to see it. Make sure you mail it to us. Thanx to Clare for helping us out with the gig. We're definitely looking forward to coming back to Birkenhead next time around. Hopefully then you guys won't have to push uphill again. Maybe we'll have reverse then. ALL OF YOU STAY IN TOUCH!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!! PEACE AUGUST 7 CHORLEY @ THE COMMUNITY CENTER What an eventful day. Spent the whole day hanging outside the Community Center in Chorley with the boys from MLitM. They came all stocked up for the day. Beer, vodka, tequila, rum, wine and even some mystery booze that was actually pretty good. We had no choice but to help them get rid of it all on their last day of the tour. To make a long story short, everyone was half in the bag by 4 in the afternoon. Nice game of football in the middle of the street. Surprised noone got run over by a car. The time flew by. Good times!!! Thanx to Emjay for helping us out with the gig. Thanx to Mouse for taking care of us. Thanx to MLitM for the good times and a wicked set. Huge thanx to Ted for jumping up in 'Hollywood' again and flicking my pedals. Shirts off this time. Thanx to Ken for the ride in 'Ascension', although my nuts are still sore. We'll see you boys again before we head home. By the way, McNizzle is still looking for that cardigan and I want my hoodie back that Ted nicked. PEACE AUGUST 6 LIVERPOOL @ HEAVEN AND HELL Back in Liverpool. Second time this week. This time we played with My Life In The Making. The show came up last minute since The Hex show was moved to a Sunday instead. That didn't leave much time for promotion. Luckily Ted from MLitM is from Liverpool and some people turned up for the gig. We had an awesome time anyway. Thanx to Ted for stepping up in 'Hollywood' again. We're gonna do it again tonigh in Chorley. Should be a wicked night. Its hard to believe we only got 15 days befor our last show for this tour. Time does fly when you're having fun. When we started it seemed like the 6 months are gonna last forever and here we are counting days down in teens already. August is a real busy month for us. We're playing 18 shows in 21 day as it stands right now. Maybe we'll manage to get another one squeezed in still. Thanx to everyone that made this musical mission such an amazing experience for us. PEACE AUGUST 5 LONDON @ WEST ONE FOUR Back to London once again. Since the city is a bit chaotic these days we decided to get in and out as fast as we can. Especially with our van, we're guaranteed to get pulled over and we didn't want that. Got to the venue with no problems. Good!!! What can I sat about the show... Last night we had people come out from all over the place to see the show. Big thanx to the boys Eudaimonia and the rest of the Cambridge crew for all your support (sorry you missed the last train home). And thanx for the video as well. Can't wait to see it! Thanx to the Chatham people for coming down. The girls from Ashford, thanx for coming down (sorry about your train too, we know you didn't make it home till 8am). And of course thanx to the Finns/Laplandians for coming all the way from Edinburgh. All you guys are amazing fans and friends. You made the night for us. This will never be forgotten, hopefully some day we'll be able to return the favour in some way. STAY IN TOUCH!!! ALL OF YOU!!! Big thanx to the bands that played, Protosoul, El-Camino and Kryah. Huge thanx to Kim for making the night run so smooth. And thanx for letting us crash at the house and the shower. Gonna get some pics put up for this show soon. PEACE AUGUST 4 BIRKENHEAD @ THE HEX We've been waiting for this show. Last time at the Hex we had amazing time and made lots of fans, so we couldn't wait to come back. You guys definitely did not disappoint us. The crowd was loud and had tons of energy. Much like last time we spent at least an hour after the show signing everything from CDs to flyers to random pieces of paper, etc. Awesome times!!! Feels great to be so appreciated. It was good to see all the people from last time come out and support us. Big thanx to Gaynor for heping us out with the show. Thanx for the free beers as well. We're coming back to the Hex this Sunday. Make sure you guys come out and support us one more time. Here are the pics from last night. PEACE AUGUST 2 LIVERPOOL @ ZANZIBAR First time in Liverpool. Somehow we never got a chance to play here the first time around UK. The turnout wasn't great. But it is a Monday night and its tough to bring people out. The venue was awesome. Just one of those places that has everything done right. The sound was great, thanx to Andy for that. Big thanx to the guys from Nine Yards Left for helping us out with the gig. We're coming back to Liverpool to play at Heaven and Hell this Friday August 5th with My Life In The Making. We've ran out of CDs once again. Since the budget is tight we decided to make some 'ghetto' copies of 'BRAILLE'. The music is still just as good, the only thing lacking is the artwork. Although it would be nice to have the full artwork, the important thing is whats on the disk afterall. So these CDs can now be bought at any of our shows for just £3. Can't go wrong with that deal. The original 'BRAILLE' can still be purchased online. You'll find the link for that on our home page. Huge thanx to Tara for sending us out all those CDs over the last 5 months. Much appreciated!!! PEACE AUGUST 1 THE BIG NEWS YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! ZEROSCAPE has joined forces with D'ANGELO ENTERTAINMENT/RANLIN RECORDS INTERNATIONAL to bring the 'BRAILLE' Tour 2005 to the United States of America. We're looking forward to working with CEO Rande D'Angelo and the whole RANLIN INTERNATIONAL family. After a short stop home we'll be flying to California to begin a 72 day stretch of the 'BRAILLE' US Tour across 8 states. This is the next step for us as we continue on our musical mission. We will be playing small amphitheaters with crowd capacities of 2500 to 5000 people. Two thirds of the shows have already sold out!!! We'll be sharing the stage withbands such as THE VANDALS, THE VERVE PIPE, SYMPHONY X and THE TONY LEVIN BAND. The first 15 dates have been posted on the shows page. Keep checking back for more updates. Lots more to come. PEACE. THE VAN... For the last little while we've been trying to figure out what we're gonna do with the van at the end of the tour. So here's what we've come up with... We're gonna give it away to a band. This van belongs on the road and although it isn't a dream vehicle, it still does the job. So we want to give it to a band that will actually put it to good use. So if you're interested in inheriting this legendary van, call us at 07913 568 922. PEACE GET INVOLVED Check it out! We now have our official UK street team set up, so if anybody would like to join, you can help us on our musical mission. As a part of the ZEROSCAPE street team, you'll get free entrance to our shows for yourself and a friend, plus discounts on our cd's and merch. All you gotta do is sign up and you'll be sent some of our promo flyers to help promote our shows in your area. Just click here to to register http://streetteam.moonfruit.com We also need to get some merch done soon since we've ran out of everything we had. We need a new design to put on the shirts, sweaters and whatever else we get made. If you want to give it a shot, we'd love to see your ideas. Much like our music, we are not setting any limits or rules for how the design should be. Just e-mail us whatever ideas you've got. Any photoshop or JPG file is good. Send them over to band@zeroscapemusic.com. We'll select the best one in a few weeks. Hopefully get to post some of them on the site as well. In return, we will send some shirts and stuff for free as soon as they're made as well as a copy of 'BRAILLE' if you haven't got one yet. And last but not least a full credit on the website. PEACE JULY 31 CANTERBURY @ KIAD This show came up at the last minute. Got the phonecall in the morning from some friends letting us know there is a chance for a gig. So we jumped on it. Its not like we got anything better to do. The gig was help in a college pub. Too bad the school is out for summer, it probably would've been much busier. Oh well, good times anyway. Thanx to Justin for letting us jump on the gig last minute. Today was a very sad because we had to repaint the van. Lets face it. The thing was a heatscore from day one. We get pulled over way too often. Although we get lucky most of the time, getting arrested once is plenty. We pushed our luck few too many times already. We chose a perfect painting spot too. Right at a service station on the M25. Thats not suspicious at all. Four guys repainting a van with house paint and a roller. Ghetto as usual. So now its back to the boring white. Hopefully the cops will lay off us now. PEACE JULY 30 CHATHAM @ THE TAP'N'TIN The morning in court wasn't as fun as we anticipated. Apparently the court system here is just as slow as it is anywhere else. We showed up at the courthouse at 9:30 and didn't leave until almost 1 o'clock. Lucky we got in before lunch or else that would've set us back another hour. The judges were good to us. They slapped us both with 6 points on our lisence since they knew we got no money to pay the fine anyway. I guess it could've been worse. So it looks like all the driving is up to Binski now. Can't get stopped again or we loose the lisence for 6 months automatically. Oh well... The gig last night was absolutely amazing. It was awesome to see how many people came to see us. I guess we did quite a bit of damage in Kent over the last 5 months since we got here. Thanx to everyone that came and supported us. You guys were amazing. Thanx to CCTV for the great set. Thanx to the boys from Denounce for coming down and hooking us up with the free shirts and CD's. Clean clothes is nice. We'll see you guys over in Canada some day. Too bad we got no CD's for sale. But you can order them through the link on our homepage for about the same amount. Check it out. Big thanx to Vic once againg for a wicked show. Over the last 5 months we've played many shows that were set up DefZone. Thanx so much for all your help on our musical mission. Not only with booking shows and doing great sound, but also with good advice everything else we've harrased you about. You're a great friend and we'll definitely be staying in touch. Don't think that just because this is our last time in Kent on this tour the calls are gonna stop. I'm sure something will come up soon enough. PEACE JULY 29 BURY ST. EDMUNDS @ THE POT BLACK SNOOKER CLUB This was an interesting day. We were on the way to the club at about 5pm when we got pulled over driving through the city. No surprise, the van is a heatscore with all the graffiti on it. This time we didn't get so lucky with the cops. They looked though all the paperwork and realized that there is no insurance in my name. The van in insured only for Binski to drive. Not that we knew that since in Canada you don't have to register each driver separately. Since we don't have a permanent address in UK we had to be dealt with there and then. So they arrested us and off we went to the police station. Spent over 3 hrs in a holding cell as if we're some criminals. Filled out tons of paperwork and even did a recorded interview. Not fun. The funny thing is they made us take off the shoes before we went in the cell just in case we decide to hang ourselves with the shoelaces I guess. A bit overprotective. they took our passports as bail and finally release us at 8:30ish. Off to court first thing in the morning. Needless to say, we didn't make soundcheck and got there just in time. The show went well. Thanx to everyone that came out to support us. Been a while since we've been here. Than to the guys from Cambridge that came down as well. Can't wait to see that video. thanx to Jason for hooking the show up. It was good times. PEACE JULY 27 IMPORTANT UPDATE A major announcement will be made hopefully within the next couple of days. Make sure you keep checking back on the site. We're really excited about it and can't wait to share the good news with the rest of you. STAY TUNED!!! PEACE JULY 25 ASHFORD @ THE CREATE FESTIVAL Finally.... We waited for this show for a while. Got to finally play outside for a change. The weather didn't look too promising in the morning. It was raining right through the night and morning but it cleared up nicely by the time we made it to Ashford. The turnout wasn't as big as was expected probably cause the weather. But it was good anyway. The stage was nice and big and me and Binski had a wicked time taking turns jumping off the speaker in the front. The sound was good as well. Didn't stage dive as I planned earlier cause the barrier was pushed back about 15' and I wasn't drunk enough to think I could clear it. Big thanx to My Life In The Making for playing and for the game of Canadian football at the end of the day. Always enjoy watching you guys on stage. Also thnx to Fundamental Skillz and (No Hope)Astronaut for great sets as well. Huge thanx to Ted for stepping up in Hollywood. Wanna go on tour with us??? Thanx to Steve for setting all this up and making it run so smooth. We'll stay in touch. Thanx to Ken for offering up the house once again although we never made it there. This is our last time in Ashford for this tour. This town has been great to us, we'll be back soon. If anyone has pics of the show, get in touch. And enough with the swimming jokes already... Although it is still funny. PEACE JULY 24 BARNSTAPLE @ THE EXETER INN Good times last night. Big thanx to Richard for helping us out with the show. And thanx for the free beers as well. They're always better when they're free. Big thanx to all the bands that played. Thanx to 2SM for showing us that a two piece band can actually sound amazing. And big thanx to all those that stood at the front and supported us to the end. PEACE JULY 23 YEOVIL @ FLICKS As I mentioned in the last update, this show came up last minute and we had to cancel our Torquay gig to be there. It defiitely went well. The place was packed with people and they showed us support from beginning to end. Awesome moshing guys, glad we got it on video. Big thanx to Will for hooking us up with the gig, hopefully we can come back to yeovil again sometime. We have now less than 10 CD's left from the second run we made. Which means after tonight there will be 1000 copies of 'Braille' out there. Thanx to everyone that helped us get this far. It feels amazing. Thanx to Ben as well for making us some CD's for this Sunday's festival in Ashford on last minute notice. PEACE JULY 22 BOURNEMOUTH @ MR. SMITHS Great night. It was good to plug in again and play loud. J did a great job with the sound last night again. And thanx for letting us crach at the house as well. Big thanx to all the bands that played last night. Good stuff. We really enjoyed it. Thanx again to Rick from Dead Man Skanking for helping us out with the show. And thanx for letting us stay at your house for the last 2 days and for all the food, showers (although they were cold) and letting us do the laundry. It was awesome hanging out with you, other than me making pathetic attempts at playing GTA 'cause I'm brutal at that. We gotta do it again some time. Since it was Jizzle's B-Day yesterday we went out after the show to the Villa in Bournemouth. Good times!!! He's gonna be in rough shape today. About tonight's show... We got a call last night from a promotion company offering us a middle slot at Flicks in yeovil for a sold out show. There will be over 350 people there. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Torquay gig. Thats about the only thing we can't do. Be in 2 places at the same time. Sorry to all those that were gonna come to the show. I hope you understand that we could not pass on an opportunity like that. Hopefully we'll see you all in Barstable at the Exeter Inn Saturday. PEACE JULY 21 BOURNEMOUTH @ MR. SMITHS (ACOUSTIC SET) First acoustic set in a long time. Although we've been busking lately, but that doesn't count. The show went well. The crowd was really good and responsive. Thanx to J for doing great job on that sound board. Binski's voice has been rough since he caught a cold last week, but he pulled it through like a soldier as usual. Must keep going. Going back to play at Mr.Smiths again tonight. This time plugged in and loud as we always do it. Tear the place up. Hopefully see some fans we made here last time around. GUESTBOOK In case you've dropped by our guestbook lately you might have noticed a few nasty messages left there for us. Let me explain something. If you don't like what we, do we do appreciate the honesty since we can't expect everyone to like our music. However, oddly enough, all the bad entries from the last 2 days came from the same IP Address. Therefore its from the same person signing in with a different name. Now who can be pathetic enough to take the time a day to do that? Hmmm.... Guess who's back? Rememer the loser of the year? This idiot is on our site 24/7. I guess he doesn't get enough hours at his Safeway job stacking shelves to keep him busy. What a shame. It must hurt to see us actally going somewere. PEACE IMPORTANT NEWS ZEROSCAPE SHOWCASE SHOW IN LONDON Big news! We're going to be headlining a huge showcase show on August 4th, at the prestigious "West One Four" venue in London. This is going to be an important show for us... We've managed to get quite a bit of label interest since we've been here, so this will be the night that all the big industry-people/record labels get to see us. We're also going to be shooting some footage of the show for our debut music video of "Uncle Bush Wants You", so come rock out for the camera! We've made lots of friends here in the UK, and we'd love to see you all there, wherever you're coming from. We need your support for this one. PEACE JULY 20 SOUTHAMPTON @ JOINERS Good times last night again. First time in Southampton. Down south once again. The venue was awesome. Looking at the posters in there shows that there are lots of big bands coming through. The sound was awesome on and off the stage. Thanx to Martin for that. Big thanx to the bands that played, Through These Lies and Rest At Nothing. You guys were great, stay in touch. Huge thanx to Rich from Dad Man Skanking for helping us out with this show and the next 2 coming up as well. And big thanx to everyone that came out to see us and moshed for the whole set. You guys had wicked energy last night and we appreciate it. Hopefully we'll see you at one of the Bournemouth shows coming up. Check the shows page for more info. Got a call from Sheffield police today in the morning. They finally caught the loser that broke into our van and stole the guitars way back in April. Job well done. Apparently he is charged with a few offences and will serve time for it. Good times buddy, keep your soap on a rope. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PEACE JULY 18 YORK @ CERTIFICATE 18 Another awesome night. It was nice to return to York once again. Big thanx to Sam from Headcage to helping us out with the gig. You guys played great. Respect to Chris for playing with a broken wrist, rock'n'roll. Thanx to everyone at Certificate 18 for taking such great care of us. Special thanx to Chris for all the food and beers. Although I must say, it was a rough morning. Never touching Absenth or that mistery mexican booze again. Brutal, but at least I know what it is now... Jizzle actually climbed the city wall at 4 in the morning and went to sleep up there. It was funny seeing him in the morning with all the tourists taking pictures of him. And of course, huge thanx to everyone that came out to support us and started the crazy moshpit in the front. It was cool to see all this energy from you guys. You made us feel great. And thanx to Will for all the kind words and support. PEACE JULY 17 CHATHAM @ THE TAP'N'TIN Since the Y Rock Festioval got cancelled 2 weeks ago we desperately needed to fill the date. Its a shame not to play on a Saturday night. So we called Vic, and once again he bailed us out and helped us with yet another gig. It was great to be back at the Tap'n'Tin. This time the show was upastairs. the sound was good (of course, Vic was on it...) The stage however was pretty small. We tore it up anyway. Made the best of it, especially with McNizzle and Binski down on the floor for the end of the set. The crowd was cool. It took some effort to bring them up from the bottom 2 floors, but once they came up, they stayed up. So overall it turned out to be an awesome nigght. Thanx again to Vic for everything. We'll see you back at the Tap'n'in on Friday the 29th. This time we gonna tear up the downstairs stage. Can't wait... After the show we headed to a service station on a motorway to get some sleep. We were so burnt out by the time we got there that we accidentally parked our van in a coach parking area on one of the busiest service stations on the M25. It was sure a funny site in the morning with all the big busses parked all around us. Check out the pics. PEACE JULY 16 CAMBRIDGE @ MAN ON THE MOON Another wicked night. It was so good to see the people we met in Newmarket over 4 months ago now. As a matter of fact they were the first people to ever see us on this side of the ocean. Never forget that show. It was great seeing you all sporting our shirts and singing along to all the tunes. Makes us feel amazing. Plus all the energy we saw in front of the stage last night once again reminded us why we're here. Thanks to all of you for the support. We'll be playing at the Prior's Inn in Bury St. Edmund's on July 28th. Hopefully we'll see you all there one more time. Big thanx to Eudaimonia and Loop Hole for playing with us. You guys were great. And of course, thanx to Mat for putting this show together (told you I won't forget). You did an awesome job. PEACE JULY 14 BLOODY GEARBOX... Well, we mentioned before that our van is a piece of junk and its sure living up to the expectations. The other day we were making our way to Exter when suddenly the gears stopped working. Somehow we managed to get it to a nearby service station. As usual, we called our good friends at the RAC. Not so lucky this time. Our membership has been cancelled. Thats not surprising considering we never even payed our membership fee. We managed to get away with it for 3 months though. Got three new alternators, a new battery, a free tow and countless other things out of RAC for free. So I guess they've been pretty good to us afterall. A while later we saw an RAC truck pull into the parking lot. Probably just stopped to get a drink. We came up to him and asked for help saying that we've already called it in. The man was nice enough to drive our van around the lot. He then told us that our gearbox is toast and gave us some numbers to call in the morning to get it fixed. Thanx RAC for yet another freebie. So we got a second hand gearbox at a scrap yard yesterday and now are waiting for it to get put in. Hopefully it'll be done by noon cause we got a far drive to Warrington to make. Don't worry, we'll make this van last the rest of the journey. Although we change parts in it more often than we change our clothes. Sad but true... EXETER @ THREE FAT FISH It was good to be back in Exeter. The show went well. I must say, the turnout wasn't huge, but the people that were there made us feel amazing. It was good to see some people come out from the last time we were in town back in March. Thanx to you all for the support. Hopefully we'll see you at the Exeter Inn on the 22nd. Big thanx to Hum for taking awesome care of us. A couple of people actually came to the show just because they saw the van parked outside Tesco earlier that day, so I guess the thing is good for something afterall. PEACE JULY 10 BIRMINGHAM @ EDWARD'S NO.8 Back in Birmingham. Definitely the most visited city of this whole journey. I love this place. The show went OK. For some reason this city's been tough to crack, but we must not give up. Thanx to Rob from Maxrock for helping us out again with the show. And sorry for the text man. Maybe I'll read them more carefully next time. Also thanx to Jeff and Anna for coming out yet again to support us. You guys are awesome. After the show we decided to hang around at the club for the night since we had awesome time there last time we played. Unfortunately, at about 11ish the club got shut down by police. So did every other place in Birmingham. The whole city center had to be evacuated because of a bomb threat. There were tons of people on the streets. Mostly the party crowd. Got some great pics and footage of the police clearing out the people. Too bad this piece of junk computer can't accept the camera. I'll get it up there in a day or two. Anyways, as terrible as it is whats going on here with the terrorist threats in England, I must say it is pretty exciting to be here and experience these thing first hand. PEACE JULY 9 ASHFORD @ THE FOOTBALL CLUB This city is always good times. The drive down was really slow. The traffic around London was absolutely terrible. But we got there eventually. This time the show was to celebrate Steve's Bday. It was great. Thanx to all the bands: Glisten, Tortilla Army and of course our brothers from My Life In The Making. You guys were all great. Thanx to Vic once again for the amazing job with the sound. Much appreciated man. You're coming on the road with us to be our personal sound engineer wether you like it or not. Think about it... No money, terrible food and you get to sleep in the van with 4 other smelly guys. Can't go wrong. Opportunity of a lifetime. Big thanx to Steve for setting up yet another great gig. Hope you had a great Birthday and not too bad a hangover next day. Also, thanx to all those that stuck around to watch us play. We know the show ran a bit late, you support is much appreciated. we'll be back in Ashford to play at the Create Festival on July 24th. Hope to see you all there again. And even is you live outside Ashford, come down for this gig. Its an all day outside festival with tons of amazing bands playing. PEACE JULY 8 HERTFORD @ THE MARQUEE First of all, I'm sure you've all heard about what happened in London. Just want to send our regards to everyone thats been affected by this. Hertford... we've been really looking forward to this show. Last time we had an amazing audience. Unfortunately due to the bombs in London the 2 support bands couldn't make it to the show. So it was all left to us. Thankfully, the turnout was great. Huge thanx to all that came out and made us feel so welcome once again. We're glad to have you as our fans. Big thanx to Kev for helping us out with this gig and letting us jam at the venue the morning after as well. We're definitely looking forward to coming back some day. And big thanx to Ralph. The sound was absolutely amazing. Thanx for letting us crash at the house as well. It was nice to strech out. And of course, thanx for the stereo. Yes, we now have a radio in the van after nearly 2 months of hearing nothing but the sound of our own voices. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! Oh, the simple things in life... PEACE JULY 6 "I THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY....OFFICER" First thing in the morning we had a new alternator put in the van. This is the 3rd one now. Good thing its under warranty and its free to replace every time. Thanx RAC...again. Then we all got in the van and headed for Glasgow for the gig at the Rockers. Well, yet another fun drive. Police everywhere on the motorway. Since we got pulled over twice the day before, we knew it was gonna happen again. As we were driving past on of the police posts, I covered my face with a map as a joke to make us look even more suspicious. Turns out they didn't find it so funny afterall. Who knew? Within a minute we had 4 police vehicles pull us over, all heavily armed and a helicopter hovering above us. I told them I did it as a joke, but that didn't work. We all got videotaped by police stating our names, addresses, etc. Then we were told that these tapes will be now submitted to British Inteligence and kept on file. So there you go, now we're known to British Itelligence. How many people can say that. I on the other hand should lay off the jokes. About 30 minutes later we got pulled over again, this time it had nothing to do with me. Either we're getting really lucky with police or they're all just nice around here. Thanx for not harrassing us too much. GLASGOW @ THE ROCKERS I don't know who designed this city, but it sure is a mess. We knew where the club was but it took us 30 minutes of circling around before we got to it. Everything's one way and you can't turn at half the intersections. Oh well, made it there afterall. The show went really well, unfortunately the turno ut wasn't great though. This was our last show with Benign Myth. Thanx guys for putting together this week worth of shows. It was awesome being on the road with you guys. We'll definitely stay in touch. And for those that haven't checked it out yet, here is the link to their website. BENIGN MYTH Big thanx to H for taking great care of us and hooking us up with free shirts. We have clean clothes again!!! And we all match!!! We're coming back to Glasgow on July 30th for a gig in Brechin Hall. Hope to see you all there. Anyways we're off to Heartford. Its miles away, just north of London. Gonna break it up into 2 days. PEACE JULY 5 THE FUN NEVER STOPS This was definitely an exciting day. Spent the morning in Edinbourgh seeking the action, but never found much. Since the drive to Aberdeen takes a while, we had to head out of town. Thats when it got interesting. I've never seen so much police in one place before. Bikes, cars, vans, even busses full of cops all dressed in riot gear. Definitely something was going on. I must say, we never got to witness anything in person, but apparently it got pretty brutal in Edinbourgh. We on the other hand managed to get pulled over by the police twice on the way down. Obviously the paint job on the van doesn't help. The Scottish cops are probably the nicest we've met all tour, they were really cool to us. I sure wish German police were this nice. The funny thing is we had to bump start the van all morning cause the alternator is toast, so after we got pulled over we had to bump start it on the side of the motorway with the police watching and laughing. Whatta joke. Finally we were just 30 mins outside the city when our piece of junk van just died. SURPRISE!!! Waited for a rescue vehicle and since he couldn't fix the thing on site we actually got a to down to the venue. Never fail to arrive in style. Four of us crammed into the tow truck with the van full of gear on the back about 2 hours late for soundcheck. Rockstars!!! Great way so save some petrol moneythough. We should do this more oren. Luckily the other bands were really cool and the show went on as it was planned. ABERDEEN @ THE TUNNELS What can I say about the show after such an exciting day. The venue was really cool. It was actually a closed off piece of tunnel which made for great sound. The stage was nice too although I did manage to kick one of the monitors off the stage trying to jump off it. Thankfully it didn't brake. Thanx to Hot Mangu for elping us out with the gig. Hopefully we'll see you guys again sometime. Also thanx to Benign Myth for another great set and for all the help during the day. Can't wait to tear it up with you guys today again in Glasgow (if we ever make it there). Well, its time to call RAC again. They must know us by name by now. I'm just surprised they haven't just blocked our number yet. PEACE JULY 4 EDINBURGH @ SUBWAY Well, there was supposed to be some sort of G8 protest here in Edinbourgh. So of course we had to check it out. Saturday was pretty busy on the streets, people walking around with posters protesting poverty and free trade. Tons of police around although it didn't look like anyone was gonna ause trouble. So we were hoping thing would get a bit crazier on the Sunday so we can get into the action. We heard stories about riots and stuff that happen at these protests. Did we miss them??? Sure would've liked to get involved in that. Everything was quiet. Apparently it might get rowdy today (Monday), but unfortunately we gotta head out to Aberdeen for another great gig. Maybe we'll find some riots there. Or maybe we'll just start our own. Back at the Subway. Had an awesome time here last time and it was great to come back. Sound was great again. Thanx again to Hot Mangu, Fused and Benign Myth for playing with us and for all the support. You guys make us feel welcome everywhere we go. Thanx to everyone for going nuts during the set. Big thanx to the 4 teens from Leeds that came to the show (sorry, I suck with names). I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Hopefully we'll see you at the Cockpit in Leeds soon. Call them and harrass them, and so will we. PEACE JULY 3 EDINBURGH @ THE EXCHANGE Second show in Scotland. The venue was amazing. Definitely the nicest and probably the biggest stage we've played all tour. The sound was great as well. Having a separate sound engineer just to do the stage sound makes a huge difference. Must say, the turnout wasn't that great, but as usual we had an amazing time anyway. Huge thanx to all our friends that came down from Dunblane to support us again. Its much appreciated. Thanx to Fused for the great set. Its a pleasure playing with you guys. And of course thanx to Benign Myth for helping us out with all these gigs. We'll be doing 3 more shows together in Scotland this week. Welcome to the life on the road boys. Get used to bad nights, bad food and plenty of partying. Zeroscape touring school is open. YAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! Good times at the Mission afterwards as well. PEACE JULY 2 DUNBLANE @ COMMUNITY CENTER Canada day in Dunblane. Awesome times. Had to get the flag out on stage. The show went great, tons of energy from the crowd. This is the beginning of the last 2 months of the tour. Gonna be really busy now. Big thanx to Benign Myth for helping us out with all the Scotland dates. We'll have some good times this week. Thanx to Fused and Hot Mangu for sharing the stage with us last night. And of course thanx to all that came out to the show to support the bands. Also thanx to Bob's mom for the amazing feast at the house. That was great. After the show we headed to yet another Dunblane party. The expectations were high since the last one was amazing. Sure enough, we weren't disappointed. Never seen so many people on crouches in the same place before. Apparently jumping off roofs drunk is not so safe. Who knew? Thanx to John for letting everyone come back to the house. Too bad your house is trashed. Don't know how you gonna get it back together. Good luck fixing the hole in the kitchen wall. My personal tip for the day... Do not drink malt vinegar by a glass full. I must say that was worth the £8 though. PEACE JUNE 30 SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST Had some more time off during the last week. Had to kill it somehow. Monday night we ended up in Sheffield for another monday night party at the Corp. That place is awesome. Next day we visited Northampton. After 3 hours of busking we made just enough money to pay for parking. Pretty harsh, but no worries. Went to Glasgow for 2 days, that was cool as well. Had a great busking session outside Fubar in Sterling Friday night. We now figured out that we can actually cook in the park with a portable Tesco BBQ's. Thanx to Caty for giving us the heads up on this. What a genious invention. The best £1.62 we spent all tour. Thats all we've been eating now. More or less REAL FOOD. Here are some pics of the gourmet meals we've been having lately. Nothing but class, BBQing on the side of the road. Living large! We got this locked down now. Can't wait for the Canada Day show in Dunblane tomorrow. See all the old friends. YAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! PEACE JUNE 27 GUILDFORD @ THE STAR Its been a long week. Days are long when there is nothing to do. Spent most of the time off in Birmingham. Jammed 4 days in a row which was awesome 'cause we don't really get to do it much any more. Got 2 new songs completely done and ready to go and a few more in the works. The show went well. Must say, the turnout wasn't great, but we were just happy to be back on stage. Thanx to the guys from Monocracy for helping out with the gig. It was great playing with you guys. Thanx to Year Zero for playing as well. Awesome set. Hopefully we'll see you guys when you make it down to Canada. PEACE JUNE 20 LONDON @ THE RUSKIN ARMS Finally played the well anticipated Ruskfest at the legendary Ruskin Arms. Got there really early and met the other bands. Everyone was really cool. We hung out for a bit, had a few beers and a quick snack. Then after the soundcheck there was a BBQ outside. It was hot outside. Apparently in England they call this a heatwave, but for us Canadians it just another hot day. All the bands were great. Saturn Return played an awesome set, just like the last time we saw them. Illuminatus put on a wicked show as well. Hope to see you guys in Nottingham one day. Frowser was great. The whole lineup for the day was solid. Closed off the night with Guns2Roses (G'n'R tribute obviously). I wanna say huge thanx to Previnder for everything you've done for the bands yesterday. We had 3 free meals at the venue yesterday. I think thats the first time we had 3 meals in the same day since we started the tour nearly 4 months ago. Thanx for all the free beer as well. And most importantly thanx for all the work you put in at that venue to keep the legend of the Ruskin Arms alive and helping out the bands. All your work is much appreciated and hope some day we can pay you back all the favours. We'll be in touch. Looking forward to more shows at your venue. PEACE JUNE 19 UPDATE Had to kill another day yesterday. Nothing to do. So we just hung out at a park in Ashford jamming. Its hot here now. Apparently it does not usually get this hot in England, but we'll take it. In the evening we headed to the Red Lion in Northfleet to check out Vic's gig. We knew he'd have something going on on a Saturday night. Ended up seeing our friends from Denounce tear up the stage again. Wicked set guys. The other 2 bands were cool as well, not too keen on guys wearing tights though. Big thanx to Rhyme-Master Joej Joe Joe Toasterface for all the kind words, the free CDs and all the entertainment. I like the new name too. Thanx to Vic for getting us in for free. Off to play Ruskfest now. There are beers in the band room, so it should be great... PEACE JUNE 18 HIGH TIMES... So we spent a couple of days in Amsterdam. Good times. Had to park a mile away from downtown cause the parking is way too expensive, much like everything else in the city. What can I say about Amsterdam? Did exactly what you are supposed to do there. No need to elaborate I guess. Pretty self explanatory. Would've been nice to have some more cash, so we can really enjoy the city. But oh well, we made the best of it anyway. Besides, sitting in the van at 3 am eating the biggest apple in the world was quite exciting. And next thing I knew, I was being chased around by a ball in a pinball machine for what felt like an hour. Or maybe a few seconds... Yeah, I think the mushrooms kicked in... YAAAAAAA!!! BACK IN THE UK Last night we got on the ferry and made our way back to the UK. Had a lot less trouble getting in than we expected especially now with the van all painted up. We got to the ferry check in late, so the customs didn't have a whole lot of time to ask questions. Thats how its done. As soon as we reached the other side met up with Ken from My Life In The Making in Ashford and headed for a pub. Mmmmm, Guinness, it been a while. Thanx Ken for letting us crash at the house again and for the amazing breakfast. Probably gonna head for London today. RUSKFEST tomorrow. Can't wait. The phone is now working again, so HOLLA... 07913 568 922 PEACE JUNE 15 UPDATE Well, we spent another day in Dortmund yesterday. Pretty much just hanging out with friends and drinking Brinkhoffs. Christoph and David spent the last 2 days pimping out the van. The thing looks amazing. There is a whole page dedicated to it now. Make sure you take a look at the pics here. By far the coolest van on the road. And now with the muffler barely hanging on, everyone looks and stares. Can't miss it!!! Big thanx to Mad Max again for looking after us. Big thanx to Till and Motte for all the ragga tunes. We'll be rocking to it as soon as we get a CD player for the van. And thanx to everyone else we met in Dortmund for all your support and help. And of course, salute to General Brinkhoff... Here are a few German words that amazed me. All of them have more letters in them than the whole English alphabet. See if you can actually say one. I know I can't. Thanx to Max and Nick the Snake for this lesson in German... REICHSPROPAGANAMINISTERUIM DAMPFSCHIFFFAHRTSGESELLSCHAFT MIETTOILLETTEREINGUNGSFASCHKRAFT LOSTKROFTWAGENLUFTKLAPPENVENTILATOR STRASSENBAHNVITZENREINIGUNGSMASCHINE Now its time to hit the road. Amsterdam here we come. This time its for sure!!! We'll be back in UK by Saturday, so the phone will be on again. HOLLA!!! PEACE JUNE 13 DORTMUND @ THE REHEARSAL SPACE YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! Great to be back in Dortmund. Good to see all the friends we made here a few weeks ago. Huge thanx to No Respite for helping us out with the show again. Thanx to Lost in Fiction for opening up he night. Thanx to Nick the Snake for the great introduction. Rock 'n' Roll mechanic comes through again. We better see you at Spirit tonight for some 50 cent beers. Thanx to Max for letting us crash at the house again, for the Sauerkraut and an awesome jam at the end of the night. Too bad we were all to drunk by then to jam half decent. Good times though. Thanx for all the beer and the food. Today hopefully we'll get the van finished and tomorrow I'll puts some pics of it up on the site. Saw the drawing yesterday and they look amazing. PEACE JUNE 12 HAMBURG @ LOGO After the show in France we all got in the van and headed for Hamburg. We knew it was gonna be a long ride. Two of the roads we had to take were closed for construction so we had to detour all over the place. Then there was a traffic jam for 3 hours on the highway in Germany. So with all that it took us 14 hours to make our way to Logo. The show was awesome though. Played with some really great bands, BARRITUS, STONE COLD BLACK and DEBAUCHERY. It was awesome sharing the stage with all these bands. Thanx to Zimone and the rest of the guys from Flop for coming down and supporting us. Thanx for returning the sticks as well. We'll be staying in touch with you guys for sure. The venue itself was great as well. Just looking at the wall with pictures of all the bands that played there in the past was awesome. Some really big names have passed through there. For example, next week Napalm Death and Days In Grief are playing there. The sound was anbelievable. I'd say the best sound we had on and off stage the whole tour so far. Finished 7 cases of Becks Gold between the bands. Good times... Big thanx to Frank for letting us use the apartment for the night. You are great man. We'll never forget this. And look at all the friends we make on the road driving our freak mobil. PEACE JUNE 11 MARANGE SILVANGE @ LE 412 BAR Definitely the best show we played in France out of all of them. The crowd was nice and loud and had plenty of energy. Thanx to BOTH for opening up the night. You guys were great. Big thanx to Cedric for helping us out with all the gigs in France. Hopefully we'll do something together on our next tour. We got a new camera now, so the pics are back. Check them out... PEACE JUNE 10 THE JOURNEY CONTINUES... We're getting close now. Definitely can tell by the weather. Had to dig up the hoodies and hats out yesterday again. Hoped we wouldn't see those again. Much colder here. Did a lot of driving yesterday. Put on over 700 miles in the last 2 days. Thats great considering the our tour mobile is kinda slow. Ended up stopping in Nancy for the night. See, we have a 10:30 curfew on driving cause the headlights are terrible. Only got a bit more to drive today and then we get to play. Can't wait. Its been too long. The rest was nice, but its time to get back to the husstle. Three shows in a row coming up and then, if all goes well, we're off to Amsterdam. Lets hope so... The muffler on the van seems to be falling off, so now you can hear us come from a mile away now. Love that thing. World's smallest, ugliest and coolest touring van. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! PEACE JUNE 9 UPDATE Well, we spent a whole day on the beach Tuesday. Must say we're red a lobsters. But it felt nice to go in the water whenever you feel like it. The beach was packed. At night we decided to go busking in the town center, but apparently you are not allowed and the police take the instruments away without any questions. Too much to risk, so we went back to the beach. Here's an example of how grimy we're getting on the road. We actually got a salute from a homeless guy on the street 'cause he thought we were homeless as well. I thought that was hillarious. Later, me and Jizzle hit the strip of the beach with clubs on it. Most places were looked like they were hurting for business on a Tuesday night, but still we only had luck getting into 2 out of about 15 clubs. I mind you none of them had dresscodes either. Thats the way to do it though... THE FUN NEVER STOPS! First thing Wednesday morning we got into the van and began our way to northern France for a gig this Friday. Its apparently a 15 hour drive, but with our van and all the side roads we take it will be much longer than that. A "short" 10 hours later we weren't even half way when something happened to the van. Shocking!!! This time it was a fan belt. We couldn't drive the van too long cause it would overheat. The highway assistance vehicle pulled up and after we told him we had no money for towing he led us to a hidden exit off the highway. We ended up in some tiny village in the middle of France at 11 at night. Not a thing open. What a creepy vibe. Every house had a 10 foot fence around it and bars on the windows. Not a soul on the street. So off we went to bed. In the morning (we got up at 6:30) the place didn't look so bad afterall. We found a garage nearby and got the thing fixed for cheap. Thats good. So we're back on the road now, just taking a quick brake to do the update. Only half way there now, but we got a whole day ahead of us still. Hopefully the van holds up. Lets hope for the best. PEACE JUNE 6 BUENAS DIAS... So we spent most of the day yesterday on a beach in Sete, France. Needless to say we all burned pretty bad. Real soldiers don't use sunscreen. Good times though, the place was packed with people and the sea was warm. And the piss warm beers in the sun go right to your head. I hung my swimming shorts to dry for a minute and someone actually stole them. Beats me why anyone would steal dirty wet swimming shorts. Hope you get some use out of them. Maybe you can sell them on E-Bay and say someone from ZEROSCAPE wore them. I'm sure you´ll get some big money for them. Loser! At about 7 at night we all got in the van and after a little discussion we decided to go to a different beach next day. So we headed for Barcelona, Spain. Seems like far away, but according to Jizzle's guesstimate we should be there 10-ish. So off we went. The highways in France and Spain all have tolls, so we had to take side roads to save some money. By about 11 we were still quite a ways away. Since the headlights on the van barely work, we had to stop in Gerona for the night. First thing in the morning we took a quick walk through the city, got back in the van and hit the road again. So now finally (over 20 hours later), we're in Barcelona. Looks like a great place. Maybe head to the beach for a bit now. I think I'll stick to the shade until this burning goes away. ADIOS AMIGOS!!! PEACE JUNE 5 MONTPELLIER @ LA PEANUTS What can I say. Apperently France isn't very good to us. Arrived in town in the middle of the gay pride parade. The city is a maze to drive in as it is and now they had half the streets blocked off. Although the venue was cool and the bands were supportive, the turnout was bad. We had a good time anyway. Had to run the vocals through guitar amps. Ghetto style! First time for everything. Anyhow, lets hope our next show in Metz is gonna be better. Thanx to Clement for helping us with everything. Also thanx to Le Peanuts for all the free beers. Got a few days off coming up. Probably will spend it on the beach in the south. Now that we got two acoustics again, the busking will be in full force... PEACE JUNE 4 QUICK UPDATE... So we now made it to the south of France. Montpellier to be exact. Spent a whole night on the beach jamming with acoustics. Its really warm out, which is great. First thing in the morning jumped into the Mediterranean sea. What a way to start a day. Looking forward to the show tonight at Le Peanuts Bar. Should be a great night. Got some new pics for a change... Here they are.... PEACE JUNE 3 CLERMOND FERRAND @ LE WHEELIE BAR Well, lets be honest. This was the smallest audience we had all tour. The other band bailed out last minute and it seems like there wasn't much promo done for the show. Can't win them all I guess. On the other hand, we had an awesome time and the clu was really cool. In the end we still sold 3 CDs (thats a lot considering the crowd) and got some free food and beer. Thanx to Jules and Bruno for taking great care of us. PEACE JUNE 2 TOUR UPDATE... Time flies when you're having fun. Can't believe its June already. May was definitely a bit slower than the first two months, but just as productive. We did a good sounding pre-production recording in Stoke. Still played 8 shows in 3 different countries and met some awesome people. It has also been a test of patience. Hard to keep focused when there is so much time off, but we kept our eyes on the goal. We're gonna spend the beginning of June in France and Germany and then back to the UK for the Ruskfest in London on June 19th. We're co-headlining an all day festival at Iron Maiden's home club. Thats amazing!!! July and August are already really full, but we're hoping to fill all the gaps in the next couple of weeks. So watch that shows page for updates. Thanx for the support!!! PEACE MAY 30 PARIS @ CAFE MONTMARTRE Another great gig. Thanx so much to the guys from Bleachin for helping us out with the show. You guys were great and I hope you get to do your tour next summer as you plan. It was great to play in Paris. the responce was awesome. This was by far the hottest show we ever played. We were sweating just setting up our gear and when the show started you could see the sweat just dripping off everyone. So thanx to all those that kept moshing and jumping to the music. You guys are the reason we came all this way. After the show we headed to Jizzle's family house where we got a warm welcome. They fed us some good food and even got us an empty apartment for a couple of days. we actually have a place for ourselves for the first time in over 3 months. It feels amazing. Spent most of today just visiting Paris. Nice town. Went to the Eifel Tower of course. The roads here are crazy. We thought London was chaos. This city makes it look like peanuts. Up to 6 lanes at a roundabout and not a single marking on the road or a sign. Pretty much just do what you want as long as you don't crash or kill the psychos on the bikes. Every town should be like this. Good times. Going back to the house tonight for another warm meal. Can't wait. Definitely learn to appreciate the little things now like a warm meal, a shower and a warm bed. THANX!!! PEACE MAY 29 HAMBURG @ CAFE FLOP The show went great. Thanx to Olli from Treiber for hooking us up with the gig. Although the venue was pretty small, it was probably one of the coolest place we played. The vibe was great. thanx for all the food and beer, its much appreciated. After the show we got in the van and headed for Paris. Me and McNizzle took the first shift and drove through the night all the way to Belguim. Then it was time for us to crash and Binski and Jizzle got us to Paris by 11 in the morning. Not as bad as we thought. The drive went really smooth. Thanx to Nick the Rock'n'Roll mechanic the van is running like a dream. Well...maybe not a dream, but sure got us there without any problems. We put on over 9000 miles on the thing in the last month alone. And thats just a start. This is what a rock tour van is supposed to do. PEACE MAY 28 ANOTHER UPDATE... Spent a day in Hamburg. Never found the beach we were told about. Lots of water around, but noone swims in it cause its too dirty. Oh well… Headed for the nearby park to play some football and jam with acoustics for a bit. That’s when things got interesting. Some man was walking his dog in the park and the since it was so hot, the dog just passed out on the grass. That’s when McNizzle jumped in and saved the poor thing. A real hero!!! The man then came back with a bottle of wine and we talked for a bit. Turns out he’s a sound engineer and did sound for the Tragically Hip when they toured Germany. Small world. He let us come back to his house for a shower as well, which was awesome. Thanx Frank! Later we headed for the party central of Hamburg. Got there just after midnight and hit the streets. This place is unbelievable. Thousands of people just wondering the streets and there is a club or a bar for any possible interest you can imagine. Long story short, Binski finally crashed at 11 in the morning. And the streets are still packed with party people. We gonna head for the venue now, supposed to be a great place. Right after the show we have to drive through the night so that we can make it to Paris be early afternoon tommorow. Its quite a long way. But we’re soldiers and we’ve done it before, so no big deal. PEACE MAY 27 UPDATE... Another day off in Germany. This country is absolutely amazing. Spent most of the day making our way north. No rush really. Stopped on the side of the highway for a quick football game. Good times. Got to Hannover 10-ish and hit the streets. Downtown was packed with people. Church day supposedly. People singing and playing music about Jesus, athough we never found the guy. Great vibes though. Didn't get back to the van until 3 in the morning. Believe it or not, we got turned out at a club for not being dressed appropriately. The odd this is, it wasn't even a dance club or anything. Man we're getting grimy. Thats the way to do it. Crashed in the van for the night. Woke up in an easy bake oven. It is hot here at night, maybe we'll park in a shadier spot next time. Well, we're off to Hamburg. Hear there are good beaches in the area. Time for a swim... YAAAAAAAAA!!! PEACE MAY 26 REGENSBURG @ ALTE MALTZEREI First let me tell you what happened in the morning on our way to Regensburg. We got pulled over by police on the highway (the fresh graffiti didn't help). These cops aren't as friendly as the ones in the UK. They serched all the bags and the van hoping to find drugs. No luck. I had to do a piss test in the bush on the side of a highway. Whatta!!! Anyhow...the good news is, I’m not pregnant. GOOD TIMES! The show went awesome. Great people here as well. Thanx to Alex for helping us with this one. Thanx to the bands "Roadkill 13" and "El [K]Mino", you guys were great. Thanx for the free food and tons of free beer. The afterparty was good as well...I think...remember waking up outside for some reason. Draught beer. Love it! PEACE MAY 25 TOUR UPDATE Here's whats been happening. Since we had no shows planned for the couple of days we decided to stay in Dortmund just a little longer. Too many people to thank in this town, so bare with me I hope i don't leave anyone out. Firts of all, Max(probably the coolest guy in Germany. Thanx for letting us crash at the house, for all the food, great jams in the park and everything else you helped us with. We had a wicked time even during our 4 hour walk to find the club that was closed in the end. Keep drinking the Brinkhoff's, its good for you. By the way, Max has a pipe too. Thanx to Sven for the place to sleep and all the food. GOOD TIMES MAN!!! We see you again soon. Huge thanx to Nick the Snake, the Rock'n'Roll mechanic for fixing our van. Now we can actually drive the thing for more than 30 min in a row without having to stop to put water in the rad. Much appreciated man. Also thanx to David and Christoph for pimping our ride! These 2 guys are amazing artists and they spent over 3 hrs painting the van. Wish I had pics to put up on the site, definitely turns heads now everywhere we go. I'm sure i can get some pics up here soon. The thing looks awesome guys, thanx. We're coming back to Dortmund on June 12 to play another show. This time at the "No Respite" rehearsal studio for only 50 or 60 people. If you wanna come get in touch with us. PEACE MAY 22 WELLINGHOFEN @ JFS Another chaotic day. Left Halle at 11 in the morning. Either hung over or still drunk, trying to figure that out. Binski took the wheel 'cause he was the only one in half decent shape from the night before. Soldier!!! Half way down our rad started leaking and the van kept on overheating, so now every 30 minutes we gotta stop, put water in it and wait for the thing to cool down. What a piece of junk, rock'n'roll all the way. Got to town 7:30 at night and it took us over an hour to find the venue. Finally found it thanx to some kid on the street who jumped in the van and took us to the place. Made it on time though, thats the important part. Missed some bands, but got to see No Respite who were awesome. Make sure you check that link. The show went great. The crowd was nice and loud. It was great to see people on the other side of the world that never even seen us before and don't speak a lot of English singing along to "UNCLE BUSH WANTS YOU" and "SHHH!". Thanx for making us all feel so welcome, it is much appreciated. Thanx to Sven and Max for letting us crash at the house too and for all the Brinkhoff's. Love the German beer. And thanx to everyone that signed our van, thats awesome. Die Show gestern war endgeil, eigentlich ja voll Bombe, alter, man da geht ja gar nichts klar so toll wars. Die Jungs sind auch endlocker drauf und immer für ne Party und Bier zu haben!! Also gebt alles und haut rein! I wrote that all myself. My German is getting pretty good. Das ist total gelogen, aber egal! SCHEIßER!!! PEACE MAY 21 HALLE @ UNIKUM Finally, the first German show. Couldn´t wait for it. Jizzle got a new kit dropped off by Pearl outside the club in the afternoon, unbelievable. These drums were last used by Dennis Chambers. The show was amazing. People are so friendly and treat us great. Most people speak pretty good english, which is good 'cause our German sucks (or non-existent to be honest). Thanx so much to Kris and the rest of the Faded Vision crew for hooking us up big time. We got free German beer all night, thanx to Mirko for that. Gotta love this country. Headed for a club afterwards. By the time we left it was 7am and the sun was out. Party here never stops. GOOD TIMES! Needless to say, it was a rough morning, but I think we're getting immune to alcohol by now. PEACE MAY 21 TOUR UPDATE... Well, its been a while. Been kinda busy. Here's what happened... We were supposed to leave the UK on Monday morning, but I've lost my bag with the passport in it (gotta lay off the booze for a bit maybe). So much for that idea. We went to London to get a new one done. They treated us amazing at the Canadian embassy and got a new passport done by Wednesday. Awesome. That's faster than it takes to get it done in Canada. How does that work? Got pulled over in London too 'cause the van looked suspicious. Even got a stop search record to show for it. Good times... YAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! By the way, the camera was in the bag too so not sure how we get the pics for the site now, hopefully figure something out. Anyhow, Wednesday night we were on the ferry for France. And finally just past midnight we were on the other side of the English Channel. We had no map. Driving on the right side of the road again in a British van in the middle of the night with headlights barely working. Chaos! Thats how we do it. Not even an hour later we were driving in Belgium. Gotta love it. Bought a Dutch map. That was a bad idea since none of us understand a word in Dutch. Spent the afternoon in Brussels and headed for Halle for our first German show. Did we ever get lost. This country is huge. It took us 12 hrs to get there. SCHEIßER! (look it up if you wanna know what that means) Got to Halle just after midnight and headed for a club. Partied till 5 in the morning. The clubs here are open till 8am or so. Just gonna have to get used to it I guess. We can do it! PEACE MAY 15 BIRMINGHAM @ EDWARD'S NO 8 Good times in Birmingham as usual. Its been a week since our last gig (although it seemed much longer) and we were getting impatient. Got to jam a couple of times though, that was awesome. Needless to say we played hard. Good to see familiar faces at the show once again. Thanx for all the support, much appreciated. Thanx to Robert from MaxRock for setting up the gig. Hopefully be back to Birmingham sometime in July or August. No dates yet, but sure something will come up. Gotta love that town... YAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! UPDATE... Well, now we're really done the first leg of the tour. Tomorrow we're jumping on the ferry and off we go to see the rest of Europe. First stop, Amsterdam... No particular reason... I guess... Let you know how that goes if we remember anything next day. Then after a couple of days we're playing our first show in Germany in Halle on May 20th. Can't wait for that. Keep checking this diary, it should get really interesting now. We gonna get a new phone number in Germany in the next couple of days to save a bit of money on calls, but our UK line will still be connected, so don't lose the number. The new number will be up as soon as we get it. Picked up the recording we made in Stoke at The Lizard Lounge today. It sounds amazing. Thanx again to Alex FHP a.k.a. The King Of Stoke for hooking us up big time. Maybe we'll throw a new track up on the site for a bit, so keep checking the page. PEACE MAY 9 BACK IN THE STUDIO FOR A DAY/I GOT MY BABY BACK Spent another afternoon at the Lizard Lounge Studio in Stoke finishing up some vocal tracks. The recording is sounding awesome. Huge thanx to Alex FHP (King of Stoke) for hooking us up with this. Thanx for all the time you're putting into this project man, it is much appreciated. Can't wait to hear the mixes this sunday, before we leave for Germany. Afterward headed to Sheffield. The luck finally turned to our side. The Sheffield police got our guitars back!!! Never thought we'd see those again. Thanx so much!!! Never got the accoustic guitar back or the CD player, but oh well... Got the important stuff back anyway. If anyone can spot me an accoustic guitar for a couple of months it would be really appreciated, no money to buy one now. Get in touch at 07913 568922. THANX! Headed to the Corp later that night for the bast Monday night party in UK. The rest is a blur... PEACE MAY 8 SHEERNESS @ BONDS Another last minute show that went great. This one is thanks to Mark and Vic, much appreciated. Vic has seen us through highs and lows and done so much for us in the last two months. Thanx so much man. We appreciate everything. Thanx to everyone that stood in from of the stage headbanging, that was awesome. We'll be back to Sheerness June 20th to play Greg's birthday party. So talk to Greg if you wanna come. Thanx to all the bands that played last night, you guys are great. PEACE MAY 7 ASHFORD @ ASHFORD FOOTBALL CLUB What an amazing night. Scored this show last minute thanx to Ken from 'My Life In The Making' and Steve. We had an awesome time as usual. The crowd was amazing as well. Big thanx to everyone that came and supported us (especially the girl that kept moshing after getting her lip ring ripped out, sorry I'm bad with names). Also big thanx to Vic for another night of great sound. Thanx to Ken and everyone else at the house for letting us crash for the night and making us great breakfast. Just one question remains ... DO YOU SWIM??? PEACE MAY 5 A DAY OFF... Another day off, Oficially now sold out of our second batch of CD's, we headed south into the sunny side of Portsmouth to pick up more copies of BRAILLE. Stopped at Binski's family for some good good Jamacian food. Special shout out to Aunt May and Uncle Lew for the wicked food and the great hospitality. We WILL be back much sooner than you think. PEACE MAY 4 STUDIO TIME... That went well. Spent 2 days at the Lizard Lounge studio in Stoke. Tracked pretty much everything but some vocals on six new tracks. Not bad for 2 days work. Should be finishing up the vocal sometime next week. This is gonna be just a rough recording for us to have and shop around with, so don't expect any tracks up on the site just yet. Sorry... Big thanx to Alex for hooking us up with this. Its been awesome working with you. And thanx for letting us crash at the house for 2 days as well. Much appreciated. PEACE MAY 1 FIRST LEG OF THE TOUR IS DONE...unfortunately Well, we're now 2 months into our 6 months musical mission. Seems like we just left a few days ago. The time flew by. Had our bus taken away, our gear taken away , been chased around by the police all across the country and guitars stolen. Yeah, we hit a few bumps along the way. But considering all that we're proud to say we only missed one gig, the day we spent on the side of the motorway with a broken down bus. Now here we are in England with our own van and our own gear still going strong. Started in the working on a new recording in the studio today. We've made tons of friends and fans along our journey and that was the main reason for us coming here in the first place. We criss-crossed this the UK many times and had a wicked time playing our music. The response has been great everywhere and we appreciate all the support we've been getting. We played 39 shows in 59 days. Pretty good for booking it all ourselves. And there is lots more coming. This was just the warm-up round, lots more to come. Don't even want to guess how many sandwiches and pints of Guinness it took to keep us going. We got a couple more shows in the UK to do and then we're off to Germany and France (maybe other places too) in the next couple of months to keep spreading the word. Sure the schedule looks a bit empty now, but no worries, we're working on it... We're coming back to the UK for July and August. Can't wait for that. See the familiar faces again. This time they know what to expect. Should be good times. So stay in touch and keep checking the website, cause i'm sure the story will get even more interesting now. Sign the guesbook, e-mail us or just give us a call. People ask us all the time if the stories in this diary are all true. The answer is YES. This is Rock and Roll at its best. Stay tuned PEACE MAY 1 WAKEFIELD @ THE SNOOTY FOX Well, wasn't this an interesting day... As soon as we pulled into Wakefield, we got a phone call saying that the show at The Tut 'n' Shive is cancelled. So we figured that there must be a reason for that. We went to Trad Music store and ended up getting a wicked deal on all kinds of gear, so now we're really back on track. As if that wasn't good enough, we went to the Snooty Fox where we played about a month ago to say hello to Malc. As soon as we pulled in he came up to us and told us that we're playing since one of the bands bailed out on him. Finally the luck is on our side. The show went awesome. We made some great friends and fans. The sound was amazing as usual, and we got anothere DVD made which looks awesome. I must say this is one of the best venues we played in the UK and Malc definitely has his sh#t together. The sound, the lights, the cameras. Amazing. Check out the Snooty Fox here. PEACE APRIL 30 NUNEATON @ THE NAGS Awesome night. Thanx so much to Matt for hooking up the gig and lending us all kinds of gear. The crowd was nice and loud as well, thanx for that. PEACE APRIL 29 < BIRMINGHAM @ EDWARD'S NO. 8 Back to Birmingham. Not the greatest turnout, but good times anyway. The bands were great. Thanx to Becky for setting us up this show and helping us find gear. Big thanx to Jeff for spotting us his bass. Very much appreciated. Hopefully we'll be back at this venue on May 14th. Just waiting for a comfirmation... PEACE APRIL 28 THIS REALLY SUCKS... As if we didn't have our share of bad luck yet. Last night after the show we got offered a place to stay. Seemed like a good idea since its not as cold and we can stretch out for a change. So off we went. Little did we know, we parked the van in the worst area of Sheffield. In the morning the window was smashed out and someone has made off with a my Gibson Les Paul guitar and McNizzle's Ibanez Sound Gear bass. Just as we almost got our backline together. Now we need guitars... Anyone wanna give us some for free??? I can't imagine shopping for a new guitar, especially that the budget is really tight now. We have a show in Birmingham today and we WILL play it, because thats the way we always do things. Can't set us off our path that easy. Although I must say, this is a big kick in the nuts... PEACE APRIL 28 SHEFFIELD @ THE GRAPES Awesome night. Our second time back to Sheffield. It was nice to see the familiar faces. Big thanx to James and the rest of Suddenly Last Summer for hooking us up with a gig. Thanx to everyone that came out to support us once again. We'll be back sometime this summer I hope. PEACE APRIL 26 SAXMUNDHAM @ THE WHITE HEART HOTEL What happened here? Three out of town bands playing on one night with absolutely no promo done... You can imagine how well that went. But we did end up meeting some really cool bands and people and had a great time playing, so it was worth the drive there afterall. PEACE APRIL 25 PRESTON @ THE MITRE Probably the smallest venue we played, but it was great anyway. People were awesome and we got really good response back. Thanx to everyone that came out to support us. There are no live pics of this show, so here are some random pics I found on the camera... PEACE APRIL 24 CHORLEY @ THE CHORLEY COMMUNITY CENTER Another great show. Awesome crowd, you guys got some energy... The bands were good as well. Thanx for helping us out with a few missing pieces of gear. Thanx to Emjay for taking the pics and setting up the show. We definitely gonna come back later on in the tour. Keep your eyes on the schedule. I'll get some pics from this show up tomorrow. This computer's too slow. The Germany and France shows are getting booked fast, so we'll be staying busy, no worries. PEACE APRIL 23 LONDON @ THE RUSKIN ARMS Fourth time in London since we've been in the UK and this one was the best by far. First of all, the venue... This is where Iron Maiden got their start. This is their home club. Does it really get any better than that? Secondly, the bands were wicked. Dogs Tooth and our good friends from Saturn Return. It was great to finally hear you guys play. Can't thank Alan enough for everything he's done for us. This guy has seen us through high and low and has supported us from day one. Never forget that man, much appreciated. Thanx to Emma for taking those wicked pics. Hopefully I can put some up soon. We'll be back to London soon. Keep checking that shows page. We're just getting warmed up!!! PEACE APRIL 22 BIRMINGHAM @ SCRUFFY MURPHY'S Good times as usual. Not as many people out this time around, but we had a wicked time anyway. And we love this city. Thanx to Rob for setting up the show. Wicked time after the show too, partied all night (what else is new). Thanx for letting me know that Birmingham is not spelt with a U. Wish I knew that earlier. We'll be back here next Thursday at Edward's No. 8. That should be good. Hope to see you all out again. We are now getting played on the Kerrang Radio Unsigned show on a weekly basis. Thanx to Loz and Rob for that. More luck than we ever had with Edge 102. If you live in T.O. you know what I mean. This does not include Martin Streak tho, cause he's cool and always has been on our side. Thanx Martin. Respect for that. Hopefully start getting some airplay on BBC 1 soon as well. We're gonna conquer this country. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! Stay in touch... Check out the review of the show here. PEACE APRIL 21 BIRKENHEAD @ THE HEX CLUB After circling around Birkenhead for an hour we finally found this place. When we walked in the place was packed. We couldn't believe it. This was an amazing show. Thanx to Ji for playing with us on last minute notice and for lending us the gear for the night. Thanx to The Hex Club Staff for taking such great care of us for the night. Thanx to Kelli Edmonds for taking pics for us. And most importantly, thanx to all those that came out and supported us. It was great to feel your energy from the stage. We'll see you all again next time. We did a longest autograph session ever, stickers, CDs, clother, arms, whatever... Thanx for a good night. PEACE APRIL 21 LOSER OF THE YEAR... So we removed the name of the touring company we dealt with off our site. The reason is, we're better than that and we don't need to bad-mouth someone to make ourselves feel better. On the other hand, these people (the touring company) are calling and e-mailing venues, bands and promoters we deal with asking them to cancel our shows. Thats pathetic. I guess they got nothing better to do with their time. I wonder why the business is slow??? The funny part is that all the people we're in touch with know better than to listen to that crap and they call us asking who is the idiot that keeps calling them. All we want to say is thanx for having faith and trust in us. We appreciate it and look forward to working with all of you again. PEACE APRIL 20 STOKE @ THE TALBOT (Acoustic Set) This went great. We just played at the Talbot last week and were invited back for an acoustic set. We had a great time. Thanx to bill for getting us back and again for the free beer, chips and whatever was in that orange bottle. Also huge thanx to John for letting us use the flat for a night. Much appreciated. We're coming back to Stke to do some studio work on May 1 and 2. More details on that coming soon. PEACE APRIL 19 TOUR UPDATE... Well... Last Sunday, for the first time since the beginning of the tour (March 1st) we decided to split up for a day to get more work done. Jizzle and Binski headed south to Portsmouth to pick up CD's and some gear and McNizzle and I (Speshalizt) stayed in Birmingham to get some work done on the internet. It was all good until midnight, when we got kicked out of the bar and realised that everything's closed and there is no place to crash. Here's something new we learned: sleeping at a train station sucks. we managed to fool security that we were actually gonna buy tickets, but that only worked till 5 am. Long story short, rough day yesterday. Jizzle and Binski on the other hand had a successful trip (nevermind a place to stay and 2 warm meals). Jizzle got a 5 piece Pearl Kit with all the hardware, stool, stands, etc... FOR FREE. Big thanx to Redge from Pearl Canada and Betty a.k.a. Metalqueen. Also thanx to Dan and Dave from Pearl UK for setting this up. You guys are wicked. We off to play 12 shows in 13 days, this should be amazing. PEACE APRIL 19 MANCHESTER @ THE MUSIC BOX Good show, the venue was cool and the people were awesome. Our first time in Manchester. Thanx to Lily for hooking this one up as well and giving us a place to crash. Sorry we were so late. We'll be on time Sunday. Sorry, no pics for this one. We've been slacking, i'll get back on that today. PEACE APRIL 10 VERY IMPORTANT THIS IS ROCK AND ROLL... Well, I guess it was bound to happen at some point, and today was the day... We've been driving around UK playing music in a bus that had no registration, no insurance and has been reported as stolen early last week. We've been stopped by police a few times, but after they heard our side of the story they let us carry on with our tour. We've been conned but legally this has become a civil dispute, and the bus had to be returned. As a matter of fact, I spent an hour in a police cruiser today first thing in the morning, but again, they let us go. Unfortunately, the bus has now been confiscated as well as all the gear we've rented here. So here we are...no gear, no bus, no money, in the middle of England. As we said before, we're not gonna stop at anything, we're staying here and we will continue to play our music, 'cause thats what we came here for. We do need some serious help though... WE NEED TO GET SOME GEAR AND SOME WAY OF GETTING IT AROUND. If you got any gear sitting around, please let us borrow it. It doesn't matter the size or what it is, we just need something to play with. We can not afford to pay a whole lot for it right now, but we will return the favor some day. We also need some sort of vehicle. We'll do our best to take good care of it. Once again though, the money is tight, but we're open to all suggestions. If there is some legal advice you can offer us, it would be appreciated as well. If you have some sort of way of getting this to any media source (big or small), we could use that as well. Man...anything, absolutely anithing that can help us get through the rough times. It will not be forgotten. Our phone number is 07913 568 922 (if you're calling from the UK) or 01144 7913 568 922 (if you're calling from Canada). If you can't call, drop us an e-mail at band@zeroscapemusic.com. Or just call us to wish us luck. We'll make it through, its just another bump on the road. Nothing good ever comes easy, and we're never gonna give up... THANX FOR THE SUPPORT!!! PEACE APRIL 10 RAINHAM @ THE OASTHOUSE Once again, thanx Vic for this. Awesome time. Thanx to the other bands and to everyone that came out and supported us. There are tons of wicked pics from that show, but unfortunately i got no way of posting them at the time, make sure you come back and check them out tho. PEACE APRIL 9 CHATHAM @ THE TAP 'N' TIN Well... Vic is the man. This guy set up the show, did a wicked job on the sound, got us a warm meal and a place to sleep. We can't thank you enough. Also thanx to the other bands, nice to hear some good metal. Also thanx to Dan for letting us party late and setting us off with a free case of beer. Much appreciated. The crowd was amazing, it was great to feel so much energy coming back at you from the crowd. Pics coming soon... PEACE APRIL 8 WARRINGTON @ WA1 VENUE BAR This turned out to be another wicked night. Huge thanx to Tony for setting up the show. Also thanx to Collusion for sharing the stage with us, you guys are awesome. We'll definitely be coming back later in the year, so keep checking the shows listings. Pics coming soon... PEACE APRIL 7 LONDON @ UPSTAIRS AT THE GARAGE The show went well. Big thanx to Alex from Glasswerk for hooking this up. Sorry, not much to write about this one. No pics either. PEACE APRIL 5 DUNBLANE Played a last minute private party in Dunblane. Good times as usual. Bob, mogli, Chris it was awesome partying with you guys again. We'll see you all back in July for a big Scotland takeover. Once again sorry we finished all the beer, wine and tobacco. As if you didn't see that coming... PEACE APRIL 3 EDINBURGH @ SUBWAY First April show, and we're back in Scotland. What a beautiful place, and the people here are amazing. The sound last night was unbelievable, the stage was huge and the responce was great. Big thanx to all that showed up. Good to see our friends from Dunblane make it down. It was great to see you all again. And thanx fopr taking us out partying after, wicked times, as usual. We'll be back to Scottland soon... MARCH 17 RHYL @ BAR BLU This show was absolutely amaizing. Tons of people. This is the only venue in town that has live bands and we were the first non-european band to play there. The show got tons of media coverage and that helped draw a lot of people. Big thanx to Steve for setting up that show. We even got fed... We had stakes at some fancy restaurant. Felt like rock stars. The crowd was great, plenty of moshing and skanking (pretty much like evey show we play. PEACE MARCH 16 DAY OFF IN BURMINGHAM... After spending most of the day in a studio in London where we gonna do some recording, we headed for Burmingham. This city is amazing. Made some friends at the Kerrang radio station who gave us a list of local venues. Long story short, we booked 3 shows yesterday alone. These people love music. At night we went out to Scruffy Murphy's and had pints with NAPALM DEATH... As if thats not enough, we headed to club Mono and met the legendary Nick Barker of Cradle Of Filth. The guys are so down to earth. Of course we had no camera with us, but....they're all coming out to our show next Wednesday. CAN'T WAIT... PEACE MARCH 14 LONDON @ THE DUBLIN CASTLE Second show in London. We had a great time as usual. Thanx to Bugbear Promotions for that one. Thanx to the bands, Jessica Insane and 8 Fold for sharing the stage with us. We have a couple of days off now and then we're off to Wales to play in Rhyl (we got no clue how to pronounce it either) on Wednesday. PEACE MARCH 13 BOURNEMOUTH @ MR. SMITHS This show was off the hook. What a turnout. First of all, the city is absolutely amazing and it was actually sunny for a change. Sunny enough for me (Speshalizt) and Jizzle to actually go swimming in the English channel. Of course we were the only two idiots dumb enough to go swimming in freezing water, but everyone on the beach was taking pictures and it was fun. Back to the show. Peaple responded really well and we had a great time as usual. Thanx to Rich from Dead Man Skanking for hooking this up. Big shout out to all the band. And thanx to J for letting us crash at his flat. Back to London we go!!!!! PEACE MARCH 10 FOLKSTONE @ THE GRAPES What an awesone night once again... The crowd was great. Big thanx to the bands that played with us, My Life In The Making and Hatemail, wicked stuff. Also, thanx to Vic for setting up the show and doing a wicked job at the soundboard. We're conquering this country one town at a time. YAAAAAAAAAA!!!! We got our first headline, check out the picture below. Funny thing, McNizzle came across it by accident, it was awesome to see tho...there are more to come. PEACE MARCH 9 LONDON @ PUSH First London show. Driving was chaos, but Rawbinski got us there safe, eventually. Breaking new grounds as usual, the first canadian band to play Push. The place was small, but we had a great time anyway. Thanx to Al from Saturn Return for letting us crash at the house. We'll be back in London at the Dublin Castle on March 13, at the Boston Arms on March 17... PEACE MARCH 8 SHEFFIELD @ THE GRAPES Another wicked show. Big thanx to Brother Maynard and Suddenly Last Summer for hooking this up. We had a wicked time. The first band to ever play The Grapes that managed to get a mosh pit going. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Awesome party at the Cooperation after as well. Also thanx for letting us crash at the dorm room, much appreciated and sorry we drank all your beer. Well...we're not really sorry. We're making great friends along the way, we'll see you back on April 27th. PEACE MARCH 7 DUNBLANE (Scottland) @ THE DUNBLANE CENTER We left Bury late Friday night and began the journey to Scottland... It was a bit of a drive, but we saw some great parts of the country. Arrived in Glasgow in the morning and the city was alive. Thousands of people just wondering the streets. Dunblane poeple are awesome. Had a wicked party in the bus before and during the show. The crowd was amazing, people were nuts. We are the first canadian band to ever play Dunblane. Breaking new grounds. After the show we headed for an afterparty. This is amazing. Thanx to all the bands, espacially Benign Myth for playing with us and throwing the wicked party afterwards. We'll be back Dunblane.... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PEACE For even more pictures check the Dunblane Fest Forum. Cheers to Mogli for hooking that up... MARCH 4 BURY ST. EDMUND'S @ PRIOR'S INN Payed the Prior's Inn last night... Another wicked show. We're meeting some really cool people here and the vibes everywhere are great... Here are some pics from last night. MARCH 3 FIRST SHOW!!!!! NEWMARKET @ THE PALOMINO We played our first show in the UK last night... Played last out of 3 bands. What a night... and its only a Wednesday. The place was packed and the vibes were amazing. Haven't got any pictures yet. Too many things to think about. We haven't even seen our gear until we unloaded the bus yesterday. But its all good times. Driving is weird... We are driving a huge 5 speed bus on these narrow streets on the 'wrong' side of the road and everyone else drives like a maniac. By the way, there are bicycle lanes and pedestrian crossing on the hiways, whatta??? Well, we're off to Bury St. Edmunds, heard there is a huge music scene there, can't wait. WE'RE LIVING A DREAM... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! Keep checking back for more... And drop us a comment as well... PEACE... Man....today waz funny....we woke up checked the gear and took off in the bus....big bus ...steering wheel on the right side and driving and the left side of the road and the roads are tiny.......SPESHALITZ took the wheel and got us to Newmarket where the place was rammed ....wicked first show..and what an energy the UK has.....stay tuned..... off to BURY...Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! MARCH 2 So we made it in. Last plane to leave the Toronto airport before all the flights got canceled during the snow storm. Landed in Heathrow at 7:30 am British time. The fun was about to start at customs. Jizzle and McNizzle got held back cause there wasn't enough info on the work permits. Almost got sent right back home. Two hours later they finally let them in. Long day at the airport, but finally we were drinking CHEAP Guinness at a pub in Nottingham. YAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! We're gonna throw up some pics of our tour bus on here soon. Its not a van.... we're touring in a Mercedes BUS!!!!! First show's tonight in Newmarket... Gonna rip that place to pieces. PEACE.... |
